Project Proposal Machine Learning: Title: Team Members

This project proposal outlines a Twitter sentiment analysis project using machine learning. The objective is to learn and implement machine learning algorithms to analyze the sentiment of tweets as positive, negative, or neutral. The team will collect and clean Twitter data, preprocess the tweets, build an NLP vocabulary, and train and test various machine learning models to classify tweet sentiment. The goal is to help reduce hate on the internet by understanding sentiment in social media posts.

Title: Twitter Sentiment Analysis

Team Members:

Roll No : 2K18/CO/285 Roll No : 2K18/CO/311

Topic: Text Classification

Objective:
Our aim of this project is to learn and implement machine learning
algorithms. We plan to do so with the sentiment analysis of
tweets.
Sentiment Analysis is the process of ‘computationally’ determining
whether a piece of writing is positive, negative or neutral. It’s also
known as opinion mining, deriving the opinion or attitude of a
speaker.
Essentially, it is the process of determining whether a piece of
writing is positive or negative. This is also called the Polarity of
the content.
The reason we are choosing this project is that there is too much
hate nowadays on the internet, and sentiment analysis can be
really helpful to reduce it to a extreme level.
Idea:
We will try to understand and replicate the existing research
papers and other multiple resources which can be found online.
If we are done with it successfully, then we may try to work on
improvements on the model performance and testing other
algorithms.

We will start out with data collection and cleaning for our project.
Then we would move on to preprocessing tweets on the data set.
Moving on we have to build a vocabulary in Natural Language
Processing, which would follow, matching tweets (dataset)
against our vocabulary.
Finally we would implement various machine learning algorithms
for the training dataset and test our model with real world tweets.
