• Detailed event flow and script of event - Program, content and types of
participant engagement done through the event:
Every year, the Department of B.Voc. Tourism and Travel Management at Ramnarain Ruia
Autonomous College hosts the World Tourism Day event. The event is organised on a
UNWTO-determined subject. The topic for this year is "Tourism for Inclusive Growth,"
which recognises tourism's potential to support inclusive development and the role it plays in
encouraging respect while providing opportunity for millions of people throughout the world.
The department is pleased to announce the fourth World Tourism Day Event, which will take
place from September 27 to October 7, 2021. The goal of the event is to spark conversations
on inclusive tourism and how tourism benefits the planet. The World Tourism Day event has
always been a success, with several educational webinars attended by students around the
country and media coverage of the occasion.
Following is the detailed World Tourism Day 2021 Event Flow:
1) BUDGET TIPS & TRICKS (Instagram Live) (Pre-Event)- The major goal of
this programme is to teach people how to travel on a budget. This workshop will benefit
backpackers and budget travellers since it will concentrate on ways to save money and time
while travelling. It will also include information on the dos and don'ts of budget travel
planning, as well as places ideal for such vacations.
3) R.E.D. TALK- In Sanskrit, ABHIMANTA means "Pride." When one thinks about pride, the
first thing that springs to mind is the capacity to express oneself freely and safely. Traveling
as an LGBTQIA+ person may have a variety of experiences throughout the world, so it's
crucial to know how and where to go so that you can have a fun and safe vacation. The
R.E.D. (Ruia Educational Department) Talk intends to increase knowledge about
LGBTQIA+ travellers and their safety, as well as to raise awareness about LGBTQIA+
tourism and forthcoming destinations and experiences throughout the world for LGBTQIA+
individuals.
6) AWARD CEREMONEY- This ceremony will be held for the inhouse students of B.Voc
TTM where the students will be awarded with trophies and certificates for their excellent
performances throughout the year.
o In-person events, offline events, venue-based events, and meetings were all
halted by the COVID-19 epidemic, but one encouraging development has been
the rapid adoption of virtual event platforms as viable replacements. Agencies
might use virtual events to keep target audiences engaged, informed, and
entertained.
o Long after the epidemic has passed, virtual events will continue to be relevant. If
you want to expand your audience, keep costs low, convert attendees to
consumers, and form long-term business ties, virtual is the way to go!
o Here are nine compelling reasons why your company should conduct a virtual
event:
1. Lower cost for both organizers and participants: It can be less
expensive to hold a virtual event than it is to stage an in-person one.
You'll need to budget for platform charges, but not for conference
space, staff travel, food, freebies, or other expenses. Many member
organisations have restricted participation due to limited travel and
event expenses. Virtual events, on the other hand, offer a low-cost
option for raising participation and allowing organisations to send
guests.
2. Higher attendance: Expect to see a big bump in participants at your
virtual event compared to in-person gatherings.
3. More diverse audience: Geography is no longer an issue with virtual
events. People worldwide can gather and interact virtually without
spending any funds on travel and lodging.
4. Higher quality speakers: Many high-profile presenters cannot commit
to in-person meetings due to demanding schedules but are often willing
to participate on a video chat or pre-recorded sessions.
5. Video catalogue of presentations: Make your content available for
rewatching while holding a virtual event. Some of your articles might
be good for employee training. Create highlight reels from the event
for use in follow-up marketing messages and to pique interest in future
events.
6. No surprises: Virtual events eliminate the potential in-person event
chaos, such as weather-related issues and unforeseen circumstances
with venues (pandemics, natural and man-made disasters, and unrest,
for example). Everything is online, so you’re in control.
7. Data and analytics: Easily, one of the greatest benefits to hosting a
virtual event is the treasure trove of data and analytics you can collect
about event participants, behaviours, and session ratings. Analyse the
date to improve future meetings and outreach.
8. More sustainable: Virtual events are a more sustainable and
ecofriendlier alternative to in-person events. Not only do virtual events
eliminate the need for travel, but they also do not require room heating,
cooling, and lighting. Since resources are provided digitally, there is no
need for the printing of program books, handouts, signage, etc.
9. Scalability: Finally, a virtual event can scale and accommodate as
many participants as needed. An in-person event, on the other hand, is
restricted by the space available in the hotel or venue. Session rooms
have only a limited capacity. With virtual events, you can expand
registrations and eliminate the need to turn away participants from
overcrowded popular sessions.

I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to Mrs. Amrita Gokhale ma’am and
Ms. Urmi Paralikar ma’am, who gave us the golden opportunity to work on this wonderful
departmental flagship event of “World Tourism Day 2021”, who also guided and supported
us for completing the event. I had learned a lot and come to know about so many new things.
I am really thankful to them.
Secondly, I would also like to thank my parents and friends who supported and understood
me a lot while I was working and completing the work of ‘World Tourism Day 2021’ event
related work in the given time frame.
