The document discusses mathematics, including its definition as the science of logic, quantity, and arrangement. It notes that mathematics is present in all aspects of daily life and has been important to the development of civilizations. The second section discusses how mathematics is important for developing critical thinking skills and will be important for tomorrow's workforce. The third section discusses how the video and article presented the idea that mathematics may be built into the universe before humans discovered it. The fourth section notes how mathematics can explain patterns and sequences seen in nature.

1.What is Mathematics?

Mathematics, according to livescience.com, is the science that is concerned with the

logic of form, quantity, and arrangement. Math is present in every aspect of our lives. All in our
daily lives is built on it, including mobile devices, ancient and modern architecture, art, wealth,
engineering, and even sports. Mathematic invention has been at the forefront of every civilized
society since the dawn of recorded history, and it is still used in even the most primitive cultures.
Mathematical requirements emerged as a result of societal demands. The mathematical
requirements become more complicated as a culture becomes more complex.

2.Why is Mathematics important?

For me, posing theories, developing experiments and controls, analyzing data,
identifying patterns, finding facts, conclusions and proof, solving problems, and seeking
absolutes are all skills that a strong foundation in mathematics and science develops and hones
while remaining open to new knowledge. Education in mathematics can create not only more
engineers and scientists, but also more people who can study and think critically and creatively,
regardless of their career fields. It will be required of tomorrow's workforce in all fields.

3.What new ideas about Mathematics did you learn from the video and/or from the
article?

I love the question that the videos and article that left me, which is “Is Mathematics
already built in in the universe even before we discovered the concept?”. The truth is no one
really knows, it is a mystery that was given to us by the world’s greatest mathematicians, and I
think this mystery has a high probability of not being answered. Simply put, they tell us that
Mathematics is indeed everywhere.

4.What is it about mathematics (presented or explained in the video/article) that might

have changed your thought about mathematics?

Going back to my answer in question number 3, I said that math is everywhere. I love
patterns and sequences, and how you can almost always see them around you. I dislike the
subject of mathematics, but the videos and the article simply reminded me that mathematics
define these patterns and sequences quite well and build upon it to create interesting ideas,
case in point, the concept of Pi. Pi is always brought up when talking about patterns and
sequences, and how it is said to explain many things that is happening around us. Another
example is the Fibonacci sequence, which is weirdly all around us, including nature. Is math
really a pillar of the universe? We might not even know.

5. Make a KWL chart similar to the one shown below. Complete your KWL chart focusing
