Task 1. Rewrite the sentences as reported speech.

1. “Our company is planning to move out of the city centre next month”. They said that their company is
planning to move out of the city centre next month.
2. “I will always remember you, Fred”. Sheila said that she would always remember him.
3. “You can’t borrow my bike tonight”. Steve said to Olivia that she couldn't borrow his bike that night.
4. “We spent our holidays in Malta last month”. Mr and Mrs Jones said that they spent their holiday in Malta
last month.
5. “I’ve never encountered any aliens before”. I told my friend that I never had encountered any aliens before.
6. “Jake knows my password”. Helen said that Jake knows her password.
7. “I’m making lunch for myself today”. Chris said that he was making lunch for himself that day.
8. “Our supermarket is closed on Sundays”. The shop assistant told that their supermarket is closed on
sundays.
9. “My aunt is thinking of moving to another city”. The girl said that her aunt was thinking of moving to another
city.
10. “I was not able to leave my work early”. The husband said that he won't be able to leave his work early. 

Task 2. Rewrite the questions.

1. “What will you do after you leave school?” I asked Joe what he would do after he left school.
2. “Have you written the story about the aliens?” The editor asked me if I had written the story about the
aliens.
3. “Are you going to Lina’s party tonight?” Lisa asked Mike if she was going to Lina’s party that night.
4. “Can you write me every day?” Gill asked her boyfriend if he could write her every day.
5. “What did you tell them about what happened last night?”. The woman asked what did I tell them about
what had happened last night.
6. “Does your friend believe in UFOs?” I asked Mike if his friend believed in UFOs.
7. “Were you in bed at the time of the robbery?” The inspector asked me if i had been in bed at the time of the
robbery.
8. “Why are you crying?” Mum asked her kids why were they crying
9. “Did you see anyone climb out of the window last night?” The policeman asked them if they had seen
anyone climb out of the window last night.
10. “Are you satisfied with your present you got yesterday?” I asked Ben if he were had satisfied with his present
he got yesterday.
