Guide questions:
1. Do you have a favorite subject in school? Which is subject is it?
Answers:
Elementary student- her favorite subject is Filipino.
High school- her favorite subject is science.
College- her favorite subject is

2. Why is it your favorite subject?


Answers:
Elementary- it is easy to understand the context of the lesson since it is tagalog.
High school- I have interest on experimenting and explore the study of science.

3. Can you describe how your teacher teaches your favorite subject?
Answer:
Elementary- it is translated to the mother tongue so that we understand in easy way.
High school- she used instructional materials to illustrate and demonstrate the lesson.

4. What subject do you think was not too helpful? Why?


Answer:
Elementary- Mapeh subject
High school- Mathematics
College- None

5. Please describe how your teacher teaches this “not too helpful” subject.
Answers:
Elementary- she didn’t have instructional materials to show some particular activity.
High school- quickly and fast in delivering the lesson.
College- none

6. Is music taught in your school? If yes, how is it being taught? If no, would you take it as
a subject? Why?
Answers:
Elementary- Yes, it is taught in recognizing the notes and beats, also singing a songs.
High school- Yes, it is taught by composing songs, and through develop skills in music.
College- yes, it is taught with instructional objectives to influence musicality skill of the
students.
7. What do you think can we benefit from learning music at school?
Answers:
To know how the history of music, gain knowledge the elements of music and also
develop musicality skills. To enhance and develop skills in music, and at the same time
explore and gain knowledge the concepts of concept.

8. Do you think that music can be enjoyable subject ta school? Why and how?
Answer:
Yes, it is enjoyable because as student I like listening to the music like songs to express
and relate the meaning of the songs, and learning with music will influence us to have
interest in music industry in the future.

Challenge: Personalizing Ideas


In your own words, can you give your own definition of music appreciation?
Answer:
For me, music appreciation is expression of emotions whether it is pleasant or
unpleasant emotions. Emotions can express through music appreciation, which writing
any kind of songs such as folk songs, include ballad, lullabies, love songs, mourning's
songs, dance music, work music and many more.

Musical Concept Possible Activities

1. High and low pitches - relate the high and low pitches to the real
world.
- use animal pictures to help students see and
hear high and low pitch.
- demonstrate high and low pitch by using
instrument sounds.

2. Fast and slow tempo - relate the fast and slow to the real world by
using the animal pictures that has speed of a
piece of music such as snail and horse, or can
be in objects such as bus and a crawling baby.
3. Orchestral instruments and their different - show a pictures of different orchestral
timbres instruments and demonstrate its different
timbres.
- present a video clip about the orchestral
instruments and its timbres.
