Here are the simple steps on how to debug a DEP environment.

  No need to create your local apps server.  All you need is the 2-tier tools and do
the following.  Note that the tools must be on the same tools release as the DEP apps server.

1) Update the your Profile on configuration manager:

2) Add an entry.

Application Server Name: <DEP database name>


Machine Name or IP Address: <This is the application server location on your DEP enviroment.  The quick way to get is to go to the PIA
login i.e.
http://slc08ahu.us.oracle.com:8000/psp/l91et322x/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG& >
Port Number: <DEP is always set to 7000>
Domain password: Passw0rd <with a zero>

3) When done, you are ready to go.  Launch your application designer using the application server setup.  All the application server you setup
on your configuration will be available on the drop-down.

Then you can turn on the debugger.

5) Open the app designer – set to debug mode - set breakpoint – open PIA

FLUID debug
Since FLUID testing is based on User Profile
Tie the PS user to the USER profile u have created
Peopletools > Security > User Profiles >
Save
Sign out Sign In
Log in with PS/PS
