1. How are the words in your activity connected to the study of culture and
society? Try to compare the way of life then and now, are there any changes
in our culture in the society?
Answer: The words in the activity given are about the characteristics of
culture. There are a lot of changes in our culture as time goes by. Back then,
controversies and scandals about celebrities in society would be handled by
running mouths and passing it to one another. Although big mouths still exist
today, social media has taken over. Online hypocrites and fake news will
always be seen daily. In the old days, our culture in games will be very
physical and get our bodies moving, like the games tumbang preso, chinese
garter, piko, and more. In today’s generation, technology has taken over and
mobile games are created which prevents society to embrace our old cultural
games.

2. Can culture and society function well without these things (aspects of
culture)? State your own analysis on this.
Answer: No, because culture is based on these aspects and without these
aspects, culture can’t function well.

3. How do you define the terms “culture” and “society”? You can cite
some instances.
Answer: Culture is what differentiates one group or society from the other. It
represents the beliefs and practices of a group while society represents the
people who share those beliefs and practices.

4. Can a society function without culture, or can a culture exist without society?
Why?
Answer: Neither society nor culture could exist without the other because
culture is an accumulation of thoughts, practices, norms, and behaviors that
the society practices and implements in their everyday lives.
