Helikopters

The helicopter gets its power from a large horizontal rotor driven by an engine. Igor Sikorsky pioneered helicopter design and built the first successful American helicopter in 1939. The helicopter is able to fly by using aerodynamic principles - as the rotor spins, differences in air pressure cause the helicopter to rise. Key components include main rotor blades, a cockpit, landing skids, an engine, tail rotor, and flight controls for collective, cyclic, and pedal movements. Helicopters have many uses such as transportation, military, construction, firefighting, and more due to their unique vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

Helikopters

The helicopter is a type of swivel wing aircraft which has one or more large horizontal rotors driven by
an engine .The helicopter comes from Greek, namely helix (spiral) and pteron (wing). the pioneering
helicopter manufacture was Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky, In 1939 Sikorsky designed and flew the Vought-
Sikorsky VS-300, the first American helicopter worthy of flying, pioneering the rotor configuration used
by most helicopters today.

The helicopter has a unique ability when it airs. The helicopter gets power to move from a rotating
rotor. The helicopter rotor has an aerofoil shape that looks similar to the wings on an airplane. When
the rotor rotates the air will move on the top surface of the rotor and cause the pressure above the
surface of the rotor is lower than the surface below the rotor so that the helicopter is raised up, this
basic concept of aerodynamics is what makes the helicopter can fly freely to move in the semi direction.

the main parts of the helicopter

1)      Main rotor (rotor blade)

Is the main propeller propeller and control shaft of a helicopter located at the top,

2)      Cockpit

It is a crew / pilot cabin located at the very front of a helicopter, where there are panels and instruments
used to control / operate the helicopter while flying.

3)      Landing skids

Is the bottom of the helicopter to support the helicopter's position when it is on the runway.

4)      Engine, Transmission, fuel, etc.

The engine is the main component of a helicopter that functions to move all the mechanics and of
course requires fuel to run the engine supplied from the fuel tank which is under the back of the main
body of the helicopter.

5)      Tail rotor

The tail rotor is located behind the helicopter, this rotor is a small rotor that rotates vertically and the
function of this rotor is to turn the helicopter in the desired direction.

Types   of Helicopter Movements

1)       Collective control

This movement serves to raise and lower the helicopter.

2)   Cyclic control

This movement is associated with circular and forward movements.

3)   Pedal control

This control pedal is used to control the angle of attack of the tail rotor, which functions to move the
nose of the helicopter to the left or right and also serves to fight the torque caused by playing the rotor
when rotating.

Because of its ability, many helicopters are utilized for various purposes. helicopter uses
include transportation of people and cargo, military uses, construction, firefighting, search and
rescue, tourism, medical transport, law enforcement, agriculture, news and media, and aerial
observation, among others.  They can be used for Reflection seismology or recreation.
