Wayne Pignone and Nuovo Pignone ‘Nuovo Pignone was an allan company with many pump models and their own unique protocol and hardware layer, However, their newer pumps supported Wayne DART asa connection option. In 2004 Dresser-Wayne purchased NP and the resulting company is now known as Dresser Wayne Pignone. DART is their main protocol for new models, Other Brands Using DART Protocol AAs one of the most widely used European protocols, DART is also supported by ether manufacturers besides Wayne and Wayne Pignone, with varying levels of accuracy. For example: Europump, Protocol Variations “Tis protocol has two main levels of feature support + Standard DART - orginal protacol used on older Wayne pump computers such as Duplex + Full DART - updated protocol which adds extra features electronic totals, pause+ resume instead of stop only, price level contra, and lights contro. Enabler supports these two feature levels va Pump Type, and aso allows features o be turned on or off via advanced settings. ‘Asa rule of thumb, pumps manufactured sine about year 2000 wil likely support Full DART, those before may only hve standard DART. See our general \Wayne information for pump models and background, Wayne Dart pumps manufactured in China use the Full art protocol but require the advanced setting ETOTALS=1 to succesfully retrieve the electronic totals, ‘Note: Reliable communication with DART pumps requires Enabler Card Firmware version of a least v2.85 build 07. Ifyou have an version, authorisation and other important communications may be less reliable. hntpshww.integration.co.nziprvdocs/FAG-WayneDART.ntmn 18 meno%8 Connecting Wayne DART Pumps What will | need? “The physical connection for DART pumps i RS48S, “To connect these pumps you will quire: 1, FOM Part: FDMog2 Passive © Jumper 12 set to RSAB5 position ot FSA 2, No power supply is required for this FOM, fo ole oo ofc of -pooho oho) 3, D825 female connector with backshel cable clamp, ete 4, Multstrand cable with 3 oF more cores to sult dstance between PC and FDM - maximum 15 metres (45 feed). For pumps with communication options set the baud rate to 9600 and the protocol to Standard or Full DART. For pumps using the iGEM computer, make sure parameter F23.02is set to around 10 or higher fit is zero, no running totals will be sent by the pump and delivery progress can't be monitored. It should not be a small number or the pump may accasionally go offline between Enabler poll. “The DART protocol allows addressing of up to 32 purnps, however The Enabler only supports Polling Addresses from 1 to 16, Make sure you set the address in the pump to a value inthe range 1-16 (0x50 to OxSF). Each af the communications ports on the Enabler PCI card can communicate with 16 logis! pumps; to cannect more than 16 logical pumps, you nead to use two (or more) ports. Some older Wayne DART pumps need to be turned off and back on before they stat communicating. hntpshww.integration.co.nziprvdocs/FAG-WayneDART.ntmn 418 meno%8 Connecting Wayne DART Pumps Enabler Configuration Using the Web Appiations > Configuration + on the Pos page set the loop type to Wayne DART ‘+ On the Pumps page foreach pump: © Set the pump type to "Wayne DART” for standard DART behaviour, ‘Wayne DART Full” for the full DART feature set, or one ofthe Nuovo Pignone types as discussed below. © Select the appropriate display format. © Set the polling aciress to match the pump adress Notes: 1. For Wayne DART pumps the following advanced settings are supported: ‘Advanced Setting Description Optional Behaviours RESETONCLEAR=1 Defauk 0 This setting will cause the purnp dlsply to be cleared when the delivery is eleaed (sold or stacked), instead of waiting nti the next delivery starts. This is not supported by all DART computers. (On {GEM pumps this behaviours determined by » Pump Configuration Setting, \We recommend you check for local regulations regarding the dsplay ofthe last fuel sale - in some countries the last sale ‘must remain onthe display until another delivery is started. ‘Nozzle Lift Conditions By defaut, the Enabler will nt show the nozzle ited (aling) until the previous delvery has been cleared (stacked or sole). This is because, for malt- hose pumps, cortectly determining which nozaleis out may require clearing the pump displays. ‘You make the Enabler report the nozzle lifted without clearing the delivery, in two alternative ways, as below, Which one is suitable depends on what behaviour is acceptable fr the site, nd how the pump behaves, Defaul 0 RESETWITHCURRENT=1 Default 0 This seting causes Enabler to report the nozzle out while the previous delivery has not been cleared, without sending » Reset to the pum, + Good: The pump cisplay will not be cleared + Bad: On multichose pumps, the wrong hose may be reported This setting canbe used on any single hose pump without concern This setting causes Enabler to report the nozzle out while the previous delivery has not been cleared, by sending a Reset to the pump as soon asthe nozzles ited, + Good: The correct hase will be shown, + Bad: The pump dsplay may be cleared, Feature Control USEREMOTEUIMIT=1 Defaul 0 By default The Enabler sends mits to the cispenser and relies on itto stop, This works with most pumps Ina few cases ‘the pump may not support limits inthis case you can set this advanced setting to cause Enabler to monitor the delivery and stop it approximately atthe limit. hntpshww.integration.co.nziprvdocs/FAG-WayneDART.ntmn 68 menor Connecting Wayne DART Pumps ETOTALS=x USERAUSE= CChnages the behavior ofthe Electronic Totals ‘Many DART pumps do not support Electronic Total. you enable electronic totals but the pump does nat support them, there willbe along pause afte each delivery while Enabler attempts to retrieve the totals For DART driver v3.5.3 and onwards: 8y default this setting is off) for Dart and on for Full Dart.
