1. Install LoggerNet
LoggerNet consists of a server application and several client applications integrated into a single
product. It can support connection to a single datalogger, but it is especially adept in applications
that require telecommunications or scheduled data retrieval used in large datalogger networks.
Step 1
Click LoggerNet_4.5.exe
Step 2
Enter the registration code that comes with the software, Click Next>:
If you don’t have code you could use the code in the picture.
Step 4
Step 5
Click Next>:
Step 7

2. LoggerNet setup
Before connect to datalogger, you must setup a connection. You could follow the step
below to setup a connection
Step 1 Open LoggerNet
Successful communication
Select data table ‘Configuration’ to change parameters such as Baudrate, output format,
Modbus address, Data interval.
These parameters can be ONLY configured as follows
Modbus address from 1 to 254
Modbus_Baudrate 9600,19200,38400,115200
Modbus_format CDAB or ABCD
After changing a parameter, please press enter once. If all change has been input, you need
to set’ ApplyAndRestart’ from false to true. When ‘ApplyAndRestart’ to become false again
and the change is successful.
Click set in the connect screen could make the time of station same as the Adjusted server
Date which could be your PC time.
6. Data download
Click main-View
Select a set of data, such as below.
When opening the data with Excel, file type selects all files to find the data file Click open. In
the text import wizard, the second step separator chooses comma splitter, then Click finish.
If you want to open the dat file into the Excel, you could change name suffix of the XXX. Dat
to XXX. CSV and then open it. Before you change it you would better to make a copy of the
data. Once the suffix has been changed, you cannot open it via View-pro.
The Request
The function code in the request tells the addressed slave device what kind of action to perform.
The data bytes contains any additional information that the slave will need to perform the
function. For example, function code 03 will request the slave to read holding registers and
respond with their contents. The data field must contain the information telling the slave which
register to start at and how many registers to read. The error check field provides a method for
the slave to validate the integrity of the message contents.
The Response
If the slave makes a normal response, the function code in the response is an echo of the
function code in the request. The data bytes contain the data collected by the slave, such as
register values or status. If an error occurs, the function code is modified to indicate that the
response is an error response, and the data bytes contain a code that describes the error. The
error check field allows the master to confirm that the message contents are valid.
Controllers can be setup to communicate on standard Modbus networks using either of two
transmission modes: ASCII or RTU.
RTU Mode
When controllers are setup to communicate on a Modbus network using RTU (Remote Terminal
Unit) mode, each eight-bit byte in a message contains two four-bit hexadecimal characters. The
main advantage of this mode is that its greater character density allows better data throughput
than ASCII for the same baud rate. Each message must be transmitted in a continuous stream.
Coding System
Eight-bit binary, hexadecimal 0 ... 9, A ... F
Two hexadecimal characters contained in each eight-bit field of the message
Bits per Byte
1 start bit
8 data bits, least significant bit sent first
no bit for no parity
1 stop bit
Error Check Field
Cyclical Redundancy Check (CRC)

Address Field
The address field of a message frame contains two characters (ASCII) or eight bits (RTU). The
individual slave devices are assigned addresses in the range of 1 ... 247.
Function Field
The Function Code field tells the addressed slave what function to perform.
The following functions are supported by Modbus poll
By default, all variables are 32-bit floating point numbers in CDAB byte order.
Modbus map
Tx:01 03 00 01 00 10 15 C6
Rx:01 03 20 CC CD 41 A4 CC CD 42 11 AA 25 44 7A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F5 C2 41 A8 94 3A 41

DATA Analysis: The yellow data is the CRC check, the orange data is the Modbus address of the
weather station system, and the light blue 03 is the function code.
The red data is the serial number 1 data of the data point table: the 5-minute average of the air
temperature CC CD 41 A4 It is a data frame with low byte first and high byte following (CDAB
format default). After converting to ABCD, it is 41 A4 CD CC (ABCD format).
The green data is the serial number 2 data of the data point table: the 5-minute average of the
air Humidity CC CD 42 11 It is a data frame with low byte first and high byte following (CDAB
format). After converting to ABCD, it is 42 11CC CD (ABCD format).

Depending upon the weather conditions dew, glazed frost or hoar frost can be precipitated
on the top of the dome and can stay there for several hours in the morning.
The frequency of cleaning is highly dependent upon the local weather and environmental
conditions, such as dust, airborne pollutants or salt spray in marine environments. Ideally,
the dome of the pyranometer should be cleaned every morning before sunrise.
Note Clean the dome using pure alcohol or distilled water and a lint-free cloth. Ensure that
no smears or deposits are left on the dome.
Monthly maintenance
Solar Shield
Clean the shield and check the screws on it.
Clean the sensor if dusty.
Mast
Check the mast and fix the anchor screw.
Check the cable tie is not broken.
Module Temperature
Check the tape of sensor.
Yearly maintenance
Pyranometer
Check all the electrical connections. Unscrew the plugs, clean if necessary and then
reconnect.
Check the instrument mountings and any base supports are secure.
