JOB DESCRIPTION / ACTIVITY DETAILS

Position title : Oracle Apps DBA

Purpose of the role: Oracle Database and Application Administration

Qualification and Experience:

Qualification: BCS, MCM, MCA ,M.Sc. (Computer Science)

Technical Experience: Oracle APPS DBA ( Min Exp. 4 year)

CTC- Upto 10 Lacs

Technical Exp.

1. Basic knowledge of Database and Application Architecture.


2. Patching at database and application level.
3. Upgrade of Application and database
4. Cloning from multi-node to single-node and single node to single node.
5. Backup and Recovery
6. Experience on RMAN backup and recovery.
7. Managing and monitoring database and application related activities.
8. Managing users and tablespaces.
9. Customization of concurrent manager, menu and responsibility.
10. System administration task.
11. Compilation of Forms
12. Admin task.
13. Good knowledge of OS database related commands e.g. HP-UX itanium, RHEL.
14. SR Handling.
15. Hands on experience on 11g database and R12 Application.
16. Import and Export.
17. Knowledge of new features in 11g.
18. Knowledge of DataGuard
19. Knowledge of SQL, TOAD.
20. Troubleshooting users and database related issues.
21. Workflow Mailer configuration and management.
22. Familiar with third party tool e.g. toad, ftp, sql * plus, etc.
23. Familiar with FTP and sql loader.
24. Willing to upgrade knowledge.

Listing of day to day activities:

 Space management of mount point on database servers, Application server, Test servers
 Space management of tablespaces in database
 User management issues like Reset the user’s password on request of user.
 Provide /remove necessary responsibities after approval
 Release the lock on table as per the requirement of user
 Oracle database monitoring of Invalid objects and compiling invalid objects whenever
required.
 Monitoring errors in alert log file of database and troubleshoot the issue
 Monitoring concurrent requests in oracle application
 Upload/download the rdf to specified location on request from developer after approval
 Execution of script/creation of views as per given by developer
 Maintain the Rmanbackup completion records.
 Monitoring the daily rmanbackup log file for error and contact to system administrator for
issues on failure
 Maintain the backup tape record.
 Copy the archive log files to rman archive location for daily archive log backup.
 Cold backup activity once in a month.
 Restoring cold backup once in a month.
 Perform cloning or data refresh activity as per the requirement.
 Performing patch application as per given in SR on request of user and after approval
 Maintain the record of patch application
 Troubleshoot Performance related issues, Manage systems for high availability, and
satisfactory response time.
 Perform action plan given by oracle as per the request and approval.
 Send daily DBA report to Chif manager IT, Technical manager and system administrator.
 Ensuring Security at OS level
 Ensuring Security at Database Level
 Ensuring Security at Application Level

Team Lead IT Infrastructure

Functional Interaction Points – Internal and External Customers

Creation of User roles and responsibilities


Assigning of roles and responsibilities
With external customers to ensure data access security is in place
OS level issues and patch management
Interact with Developer for report / data fix / patch related issues
Weekly review of the activities
