The purpose of the unit is that the student knows the basic structures of the English language to
express themselves orally and in writing, using the communicative functions corresponding to
the Verb to be, Present Simple, Present Progressive and also the vocabulary that corresponds
to this course.
It is a Didactic Unit with theoretical - practical characteristics whose purpose is that the student
knows the basic structures of the English language to express himself orally and in writing,
using the communicative functions corresponding to Verb to be, Present Simple, Present
Progressive and also the vocabulary that corresponds to this course. The topics to be studied in
the course are: basic notions of the linguistics of English speech, abbreviations and vocabulary
used in this course, Verb To Be, WH questions, Simple Present Tense, Present Continuous with
the verb To Be and Action verbs.
COMPETENCIA
The student elaborates and designs long sentences referring to the grammatical structures of the
Present Simple, Continuous in the affirmative, interrogative and negative to adapt to
BASIC ENGLISH I
communicative situations in his environment, he also knows relevant information about the
family, means of transportation and uses it to understand reading texts and class expositions. It
also analyzes and organizes the information on the use of the present simple and present
continuous to compare these two grammatical tenses and recreate situations of oral expression
and comprehension of texts that will govern as support throughout their professional career.
