    The Chairperson’s script (Debate)

     Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to adjudicators, debaters, ladies and gentlemen.
    Welcome to the Borneo Zone debate. First, allow me to introduce our debaters for today.
    On my right, is the government team. The speakers are ____________, __________,
    __________ and ___________. The Opposition team is on my left. The speakers are
    __________, __________, __________ and ___________.

     The adjudicators for today debate are ________________________________________.

     Before we proceed, let me explains some of the rules and regulation for today’s debate.
    Each speaker may speak for 8 minutes. The timekeeper will ring the bell once after the 1 st
    minute and at the end of the 7 th minute to signal the time allocate for Points of Information.
    The bell will be rung twice at the end of the 8 th minute to indicate the speaker’s time has
    expired.

     A maximum time of 3 minutes will be given to both teams to prepare for Reply Speech.

     During the reply speech, each speaker may speak for 4 minutes. There will be a warning
    bell at the 3rd minute to signal that the debater has 1 minute left. And the bell will be rung
    twice to indicate the end of the debate. No POIs may be offered during the Reply Speech.

     Giving and taking POIs should be done politely. No heckling or harassment or barracking
    is allowed at any time during the debate.

     Now, each team will be given 3 minutes to prepare for reply speech.
     The time for preparation has ended.
     Let us hear the first Reply Speech from the opposition team. With that, I would like to call

     Now, we will hear the Reply Speech from the Government Team. Mr. /Miss
    ___________________ from the government team will deliver his / her Reply Speech.
