Apart from the land award, what do you think are the benefits of Agrarian Reform to

the Landless Farmers and the greater Agricultural Sector? Explain one benefit each.

Benefit to the Farmer Beneficiary:

One benefit of the Agrarian Reform to the Farmers is that it reduces their poverty
incidence. The farmers will have a significant increase per capita income because
there will be a higher land yield due to adequate irrigation and enhance land
productivity. Which paves ways for better opportunities and welfare for the farmer’s
and his household. Moreover, the Reform give its full support to the farmers and
provides them with the security that they need.

Benefit to the Agricultural Sector:

One benefit of the Agrarian Reform to the Agricultural Sector is that it provides an
opportunity for the rural location to cultivate their own agricultural lands and

Given today’s context, choose one of the Rights that you think is timely to discuss.
Explain your choice.

Right to freedom of speech and expression, freedom of the press, freedom of

assembly, and the right to petition

- As I observe and witness the events that unfold in our society today, I realize
that some of the rights that we have in the constitutional chuchu is not fully

exercised and followed. One of it is our Right to freedom of speech and
expression, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the right to

eH w
o.
As we are experiencing the pandemic worldwide, there a lot of problems that
rs e
we are face and encounter in different sectors in the community. However,
ou urc
the Duterte administration seems to have overlooked this constitutional right.
Several news surfaced about numerous journalist, a total of 16, have died
due to mysterious circumstances wherein there was no hearing or
o

investigation of the allegedly killers (Hilario, 2020). Moreover, the

administration files libel suit on medias (Rappler) and activist who criticizes
aC s

the administration. Their agenda was further showed when the administration
vi y re

declined the renewal license of ABS-CBN broadcast due to their “critical”

report about the administration’s war on drugs. Dwelling deeper on this issue,
the administration passed a bill, The Anti-Terrorism Act, which would permit
the arrest of an individual who is suspected to be a “terrorist” without a
ed d

warrant. This poses a threat to the right an individual because the law states
ar stu

that it is a criminal offense to “incite others” to commit terrorism “by means

of speeches, proclamations, writings, emblems, banners or other
representations tending to the same end.” Which invalidates an individual’s
right to freedom of expression. Moreover, it was said by Phil Robertson that
is

“the law will open the door to arbitrary arrests and long prison sentences for
Th

people or representatives of organizations that have displeased the

president.” In my opinion, the bill is a way for the government to silence the
people and make them fear and conform to authority. Instead of addressing
solutions to the pandemic, which is our number one problem right now, they
sh

are prioritizing other laws and prosecutions. Moreover, the government is

turning a blind eye and being deaf to its citizens. Instead of addressing the
problems of the health workers, hospitals, the poor, the call for mass testing
and many more pressing issues, the administration is doing other project with
no relevance to the ongoing pandemic. For it is also the citizens right to be
heard by the administration. The citizens voices are also important for the
success of an administration. If the administration will be open to hear them,

consider the welfare of the people on their decisions, accept constructive
criticisms and properly address these underlying issues, then it will solve
some of the problems that the country and people has because the duty of
the administration is to serve the people and help the society improve.
Instead of suppressing the citizens from their rights and being close minded
that what they think is good for the sake of all, they should take into account
what the people are saying because their perspective may differ from the
citizens and they do not help address the problem but rather worsen it.

they must place their shoes in they might find a solution for our fucking
problems.
