SADHANA DIVAS
CELEBRATION OF DIWALI
Diwali is the festival of lights which signifies the victory of good over evil and
the eradication of dark shadows, negativity, and doubts from our lives. It is a
celebration of prosperity in which people give gifts to their loved ones. The
festival also sends the message of illuminating our inner selves with clarity
and positivity. Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is the biggest
festival celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists around the world. Diwali
symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and
knowledge over ignorance”. Furthermore, it is, in some regions, a celebration
of the day Lord Rama returned to his kingdom Ayodhya with his wife Sita and
his brother Lakshmana after defeating Ravana in Lanka and serving 14 years
of exile. It was celebrated too in VKV Oyan on the same date, bhajan
performed in the prayer hall. All the students, teaching staff, as well as Non-
