INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT
SEMESTER PROJECT

Purpose: This assignment will provide you an opportunity to examine the impact of effective
management on the overall success of an organization. You will need to utilize resources available
through the Book, LMS Material and other sources (including the internet) to obtain
information. You will be required to examine an organization from a variety of points of view
with a focus on its leadership, management style, ethics commitment, strategies and strategy
execution. In your assignment, you should discuss and identify as many Principles of Management
concepts as possible. A minimum of 4 concepts are required. Conclusions should be drawn
regarding the effectiveness of the use of the broad range of management tools and their impact on
the success of the company. In class you will present the summation of your paper as well as your
specific, critically thought-out conclusions.
Directions:
Dear Students, you have to select any Organization. Give an attracting name toa the company.
Now you have to examine from the variety of perspectives covered in the course of Introduction
to Management. Most specifically, these include POLC, Planning, Organizing, Leading, and
Controlling.
First of all, you have to Make an organizational Hierarchy. Decide the top management of the
organization, and detail organizational goals (Organizational goals, and Functional Goals). Then
develop the strategies that will help grow the company. As you know that all top managers are
not successful. How will you try to reduce failure?
Items that should be discussed with your selected company include:
o Mission and Vision
o Organizational Goals (Strategic Goals)
o Organization structure and culture
o Leadership style and motivational style
o Overall measurements of Performance for this company
Your Assignment Must follow the following Chapters:
1) Name of the Company- Nature of Business- Mission and Top Leadership Styles.
2) Current situation of the market & Environment analysis(PEST Analysis).
3) What are the major strengths and weaknesses of the company? (SWOT Analysis)
4) How does Planning, Organizing, Leading & Controlling contribute to the company’s
success (or failure)?
5) What do you see as major challenges facing this company in the next five years?
