This Kemper pack contains profiles created with operating system (OS) 8.0.2 and is
therefore only compatible with OS 8.0.2 and higher. Please ensure your Kemper
Profiling Amp (KPA) is updated with version 8.0.2 or later for optimum performance.
These profiles have not been tested on KPA units running earlier operating systems
and therefore we cannot guarantee compatibility.
If your KPA is running an older operating system than 8.0.2, please refer to the link
below for instructions on how to easily update your Kemper.

Thank you.
Mars Plexi ’87 KPA Pack
Thank you for purchasing the Mars Plexi ’87 Kemper Profile Pack. I hope you get as much
enjoyment from these profiles as I had making them!
This pack contains 44 meticulously shaped, studio quality profiles of a classic 50w British “Plexi”
style, 4-input (2 channel), non-master volume head.
Over the years, these kinds of amps have gained a reputation of being absolute rock and roll
machines. Trying to bottle the very essence of rock has been no easy feat. However, I think we did
a pretty good job of capturing that spirit In this pack. Hopefully you will feel the same, too!
This pack provides you with a full sonic spectrum of tones spanning glassy cleans to dirty blues
and all the way to the hardest of rock tones.
Our aim has been to capture as many sonic variations as this amp is capable of producing.
Creating profiles through 4 different speaker and cabinet combinations (4x12, 2x12, Greenback,
V30), various volume and gain stages through multiple channels, dry signals, “baked in” profiles of
overdrive pedals, and more.
We’ve even included some bonus preset profiles complete with delays, reverbs and modulation FX
to give you some inspiring “grab and go” tones right out of the box.
Below is a full detailed breakdown of what you will find in this pack and Instructions on how to
navigate it’s contents.
Enjoy!

Below I have written a key which breaks down the abbreviations used in the profile titles. If you want
to see more detailed information on what was used for each profile, I have notated all of that In the amp
L - Low Gain/Volume
H - High Gain/Volume
Examples:
M Plexi 87 4/G J L
Mars Plexi ’87 - 4x12 Greenbacks, Jumpered Channels, Low Gain/Volume
Cl - Clean Tone
Remember, the Kemper is designed to be treated like any other amplifier. Although I’ve
tried to get the most out of each profile In this pack, the “perfect tone” is a very nuanced
and subjective thing. So, feel free to tweak these profiles to your taste if you need to.
There’s still plenty of sonic textures you can create with them.
Like any conventional amplifier, the sound that comes out of the speaker is almost entirely
dependent on the environment that’s it’s placed in. So you may find you need to do some
subtle EQ’ing to best suit your performing/listening environment. Playing with the
“Definition” control In the Rig Manager is usually a great place to start. If for whatever
reason you find a profile too bright or too dark, simply sweep the definition control to find
your sweet spot. If you need to adjust further, you can start fine tuning with the 4-band
The amplifier profiled for this pack is a very aggressive sounding one. This is what makes
it perfect for snarling classic rock riffs and piercing lead tones. However, if you find some
of the profiles too “harsh” for your taste, I have found that backing off the presence
control on the Kemper itself by about 2-3 notches smoothes out some of that aggressive
high end in the most perfect way to create an incredibly rich and thick saturated tone.
Give it a try!
Step 1: Open Rig Manger on your laptop/desktop device. If you do not yet
