Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Head:
Place the safety eyes between R10 and R11, with a distance of 7 stitches. Don`t attach the washers/backings
yet as we will make the eye indents first (face sculpturing). To do this stuff the head, then use a needle with
yarn of similar color. Start at the bottom of the head, bring the needle up next to the left eye, insert the
needle about one stitch across, bring the needle up again next to the right eye, insert the needle one stitch
across and pull it out at the bottom of the head. Pull the two yarns at the bottom. Give a tug then once you`re
happy with the look of the indents, tie a knot and secure the safety eyes. Hide the yarn ends in the head.

Ruffle: Drops Merino Baby in light pink

1. Crochet 30 chains (= first ribbon), place a stitch marker (yarn with different colour) and crochet 20
chains + 1 further chain
2. Start in second stitch from hook: (inc) x 20 until you reach the stitch marker, 1 further chain, turn.
3. (inc) x 40

Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Use the same yarn to crochet 30 chains (= second ribbon) and sew it to the other side of the ruffle. Now you
can tie it around the neck with a bow.

Finishing:
*Sew the trunk to the head. The top of the trunk between R10 and R11, and the bottom between R13 and R14.
Two stitches away from the eyes.

*Sew the ears to the head between R6 and R7.

*Use white yarn to embroider a highlight beneath the eye, dark grey yarn to embroider the eyebrows and light
blue yarn to embroider the bellybutton.

*Sew the head to the body, the increases of R8 should point to the front.

*Sew the arms (2 rounds under the seam of the head) and legs (between R4 and R5, count from the bottom
up) to the body.

*Insert the needle in the last 6sc of the leg and pull it out further down the inside of the leg (see picture). Insert
the needle into the right-hand side of the body where the leg should be, pull it out on the left-hand side of the
body where the second leg should be. Insert the needle into the inside of the second leg and pull it out on the
outside of the second leg. Skip a stitch and then insert the needle again through the leg, through the body and
pull it out on the right-hand side of the body (Where you inserted the needle at the beginning).

*If you pull the yarn gently, you can pull the body together slightly and then the legs (or arms) are attached
more tightly to the body. Make a knot and hide it in the body. By doing this the arms and legs should be able
to move, allowing the elephant to sit down.

*Sew beads around the edging of the ruffle (1cm apart)

*Using light blue yarn embroider the belly button over two stitches.

*Using grey make 3ch, leave a long yarn tail and then cut the yarn. Sew the tail onto the elephant’s bottom,
cut the yarn tail that is still visible on the tail and frizz it by separating the yarn.
