period of time:

I Sharanjeet kaur a professional in my field. I am a registered nurse and I take my career very seriously
to care for the sick and terminally ill patients and I have therefore committed my life to serving my
country and the patients of my country India.

About my previous application:

got refused with UCI no. 1117530597. Respected officer ,I respect your decision of refusal .Being a good
student , I am reapplying and requesting your patience to read my following comments in support of my
application:

Previous studies & Language abilities:

In context to my academic history, I have completed matriculation in march, 2009 and 10+2 in march,
2011 from Punjab school education board .after that, i done my General Nursing and Midwifery
Diploma in Nursing in 2015 from Punjab Nurses Registration Council Chandigarh (Punjab) with 66%.
After completion of diploma, I started working from august 2015 to till date in different health
organization. My profile is having all the prerequisites .Furthermore, taking a step further towards my
aims to meet all the requirements, I appeared the IELTS test and gained overall 6.5 band. After fulfilling
requirements, I got the admission in Niagara college, Canada.

Level of Establishments

I belong to well established and financially capable family so it would not create any financial burden to
my family. I have paid 15,657 CAD in my tuition fees to Niagara College and 10,200 CAD in Nova Scotia
Bank’s Student GIC Program to cover my living expenses in Canada.

Future Prospects and Plans

My aim of life is to become a good palliative care nurse. I have chosen Niagara College, Canada for
pursuing Palliative Care- Multidiscipline Graduate Certificate Program in order to enhance my
knowledge and skills. India is lacking this aspect of care in the health care field ‘Palliative care’ and I
would like to bring back my studies and professional experience from Canada to my beloved home
country India.
Why I choose Palliative Care- Multidiscipline

Having completed my degree in nursing and working as a professional in India I want to further peruse
my career with hands on experience abroad in Palliative care as I have seen first hand that this is what is
lacking in India, . A large majority of the elderly in India do not get long term and palliative care,
revealed a study conducted by the United Nations. The survey of more than 10,000 respondents across
northern, southern, western, eastern and central India during May- June 2018, showed that 62.1% of
the elderly did not get Palliative care. Dr. M.R. Rajagopal is popularly known as the Father of Palliative
Care in the country said just 1% -2% people have access to palliative care or pain management in India.
The palliative care multidiscipline program at the Niagara College has appealed to me for various
reasons: -

The interdisciplinary way of the program particularly appealed to me, as this will give me a much more
extensive, more down to earth comprehension of all major concepts of applied nursing theory on
practice, goals for the quality care to the needy people with the innately worldwide nature of today’s
nursing program. It is vital for me to contemplate in a universal domain far from my home country and
doing as such in one of the reputed college in Canada will absolutely give me a novel merits in my career
pursuits as I bring this back with me to India.

I am very privileged that our College faculties are very cooperative in motivating students like myself.
Given this privilege to learn advances in palliative care, I am confident that adding to the paradigm
diversity of the applied nursing world by joining the Niagara College as it will develop my skills such as
SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation), Communication, and Documentation.
Working out with the highly experience and skilled faculties along with the prominent facilities being
provided will surely back me in my academic pursuit.

My college has been kind enough to offer me admission on the course based upon my qualifications so
far and I am indeed grateful to them for the same. The course also leads to progression in my career and
is in line with my previous studies as I am a nurse and the proposed course leads to post graduation in
nursing. I am grateful to my college for the same.

Why Canada

Before opting for Canada, I did a lot of research regarding course and country; during my
research, I included cost, program contents, and the satisfaction of students from their course.
Another factor is that the Canadian college fee is less as compared to other countries like the
UK and the USA. Canada has developed a first-rate education system with high standards and
it’s ranked among the top education systems of the world. Canada is one of the safest places to
study with very low crime rates and cases of racial discrimination. Canada has a multicultural
environment with people of all religions, races and cultures. Canadian qualification will surely be a
strong base for boosting my career and building my future.
