Case Study 1 - Human Behavior in Organizations

1. The document discusses a case study about Hank's concerns over managing people after hearing from his professor. It argues that while experience plays a role, it does not fully explain how to effectively manage people or provide understanding of relationships. 2. Conceptual frameworks like those presented in the chapter are intended to provide analysis of complex organizational behavior phenomena. Research findings can show relationships between variables and significant connections, whereas experience alone does not facilitate control or comprehension of managing others. 3. The conceptual framework could help Hank better manage his organization by explaining topics related to people management and providing additional outcomes for understanding his employees. It is tailored to Hank's situation and offers practices and information suited to managing his people.

CASE STUDY 1
SHORT CASE STUDY.
Organizational Behavior Case:Conceptual Model:Dream or Reality
(Luthans,2012p.30)
1. Do you think Hank is justified in his concerns after hearing the professor? What role
can experience play in managing people?
Yes, I think Hank is justified in his concerns after hearing the professor because the
professor cannot totally explain the value of experiences. Also, sometimes some people
are experienced that they cannot manage people in an effective way but they do it in the
right way. Experiences can determine what a person can do that affects the behavior. It
can be led on how to manage and apply the experiences that place in a positive way of
dealing with others.

2. What is the purpose of conceptual frameworks such as those presented in this

chapter? How would you weigh the relative value of studying theories and research
findings versus
“school-of-hard-knocks” experience for the effective management of people?
The purpose of the conceptual framework is to provide an analysis for complex
phenomena in organizational behavior. The conceptual framework that presented in this
chapter serves as the analysis and results on how to manage organizational behavior.
While, research provides a result between two variables. Research also gives findings
in different variables that are significant to one another. Experience does not portray
how you provide better understanding and control relationships to others. Whether it
can provide a significant relation on how you understand the situation and give a right
decision when dealing in organizational behavior.
3. Using the conceptual framework presented in the chapter, how would you explain to
Hank that this could help him better manage people in his organization?
Using the conceptual framework that was presented in this chapter, I explained to
Hank that this could help him better to manage people in his organization. Because the
conceptual framework that has been discussed in this chapter is used to explain topics
and chapters that are related to managing people. It also gives an additional outcome
on how to understand his people especially when it comes to managing his people. And
this framework is suited to his situation and gives a lot of practices and information.
