The document contains calculations for wave, current and wind forces on piles based on various design standards like BS 6349 and ASCE 7-95.

Calculations are being performed to determine the wave drag force, wave inertia force, total wave force, current force and wind force on piles based on parameters like diameter, velocity, period, drag coefficient, inertia coefficient etc.

The current force is calculated based on the projected area, current velocity and drag coefficient of the pile. The force is calculated at different elevations from the sea bed level.

CALCULATION FOR CURRENT FORCE (As per BS 6349 : Part 1)
By considering the barnacle growth on the piles
Diameter of pile to be considered = 1.014 m
Total drag force per unit length(in kN/m 2) = FD = 0.5 CD r V2 A
= 3.331 V2 A

V = Current velocity
A = Projected area per unit length

CALCULATION FOR WAVE FORCE

Referring to the Morrison's Equation, 39.4.4., BS 6349, Part 2
Total wave force = Fw = FD + FI

Wave Drag Force = FD = 0.5 CDrD u2 Ls

Ls is the submerged length of the pile

u is the instantaneous velocity = u = 0.26 m/s (conservatively)

Wave Inertia force = FI = C I r A u Ls

u is the instantaneous acceleration = u = u/T
