As this steering gear is provided with hydraulic-locking alarm system, when hydraulic locking
happen, audible and visible alarms are given on the navigation bridge.

NOTE:
This steering gear is so arranged that in the event of the loss of hydraulic fluid from one system,
the loss can be detected and defective system is automatically isolated and another system shall
remain fully operational within 45 seconds.

1-5."rest and inspection

1) The test of the hydraulic pump shall be performed in accordance with our standard based on the
rule of JIS F 6721.
2) The shop test of the steering gear shall be performed in accordance with the rule of JIS F 6720
"Shop Test Method for Ship's Hydraulic Steering gears" in the presence of the surveyor of the
Classification Society and/or the inspector of the shipowner and the shipbuilder.
3) The test and inspection of the steering gear components shall be performed in accordance with
the Classification Society requirements.
4) If abnormal condition is not noticed at 1) and/or 2), the overhaul of pump and/or steering gear
shall be omitted.

We will repair, renew or replace the defective parts of this steering gear which were caused by
defective design, defective material or poor workmanship on our account within twelve (12)
months from the date of ship's delivery unless the steering gear has been subject to misuse or
accident.
