EXT: INSIDE - BEDROOM – MORNING

It’s nearly pitch black, the curtains are drawn but a small amount of light seeps from its
corners, and an outline of a boys bed, bedside table with an alarm and book, and lamp is seen.
On the bedside table, the alarm sits reading 7:59 AM. Turning to 8:00 AM, the alarm sounds
bleeping obtrusively waking the sleeping boy. It reads, out loud in an automated voice.

ALARM: “8:AM”

The boy turns over, and reaches to turn off the alarm. Sitting himself up upon the backboard
of his bed. Turning on his bedside lamp, he reaches over once again aimlessly patting his
bedside table in attempt to find his book.

The camera angle changes, to a close up of his book

Opening his book, his hand trails along the braille text slowly and carefully. In the book,
raised images of various animals fill the page, teaching the boy about them through touch.
Once he has finished reading, he turns placing the book back into its place on the table, then
gets up and opens the curtains. As he opens the curtains, we see his point of view as his
vision goes from dark to light and he is able to understand that it is indeed the morning.

EXT: INSIDE - CORRIDOR – MORNING

The camera follows the boy from behind tracking his movement as he walks to the bathroom.
As he walks, the boy trails his hand on the wall to gain his peripheral. Once again, we see his
point of view, which is limited to mainly just light.

When in the toilet, the blind boy takes his tooth brush and begins to clean his teeth much like
any other person. After spitting out the tooth paste, he turns lifting the seat of the toilet before
peeing. As he, urinates the camera starts at his shoulders slowly panning down to around his
feet. Staying low to the floor, the camera follows his tracks as he makes his way over to the
shower. His Pyjamas, come off falling to his feet in front of the camera lens, and he steps in
and the water begins to fall upon the shower floor.

Quickly cutting to the end of his wash, from close up he turns off the shower turning the
nozzle to the right. Already out of the shower now, he takes the towl which is hanging on the
wall and dries himself. As he walks out the bathroom the door is closed on the camera.

EXT: INSIDE - BEDROOM – MORNING

Back in his bedroom, the boy takes the clothes which he had prepared the day before and
begins to get dressed. With quick cuts, he gets prepared for the day. The last piece of
clothing, is his jumper which he is struggling with as he attempts to push his head through the
arm hole. As he struggles the camera circles him, before eventually he succeeds in getting his
head through the right hole, but his jumper is backwards. He immediately realises and fixes
it.
EXT: INSIDE - KITCHEN/HALLWAY – MORNING

With the boy walking down stairs, the camera waits at the landing before following him into
the kitchen where takes two waffles out of their packaging placing them in the toaster. With a
quick cut, he pushes the waffles down into the toaster. Matching the previous camera angle,
the waffles pop up.

MUSIC BEGINS TO PLAY

He takes a plate, from the draw takes the waffles from the toaster and covers them in syrup
taken from the cupboard next to the toaster. Cutting over to another area of the kitchen, the
boy sits on a high stool eating his waffles and enjoying the music that he just put on. Once
finished he takes his plate, putting it back into the dishwasher. As he does this his mother
comes through the door, and rubs his head bringing out a large grin on the boy’s face.

EXT: INDOOR - CORRIDOR – MORNING

In the corridor, the mother hands the boy his shoes. As he puts them on he struggles to tie his
laces. Noticing, the mother bends over to help him, guiding his hands just enough to aid him
however does not do it for him. They both put their coats on, ready to set off on a walk.

EXT: OUTSIDE - DRIVEWAY – MORNING

Tracking from behind the boy’s shoulders, they walk over to the car which is parked on the
stone drive. The mother opens the door for the boy, he gets in and she shuts the door. The
camera, then tracks the mother as she walks round over to the driver’s seat.

EXT: WALKING AREA – AFTERNOON

Arriving at their destination, the car pulls into a quiet layby along a beautiful stretch of
countryside. The mother gets out the car and helps her son promptly get out of the car. The
birds are chiming through the trees and the wind sounds, lightly howling in the background.

Walking along a dirt track, with endless fields surrounding on both sides the son and his
mother hold hands joyfully. Both filled with happiness, they seep in the sounds and beauty of
nature. Further along the track, the mother stops her child and touches his ear signalling him
to listen in. As they crouch over a bird sitting upon a branch is seen, it chirps and squawks
perhaps looking for a mate. A smile lights up on the boy’s face, igniting in bliss.

Continuing on their walk, they both step in synchronisation. The child runs his hands through
the plants, using his touch to picture his scene. As he does so, his face lights up once again.
With the wind blowing on his face, and his fair flying manically all over the place. They
slowly get further and further away, along the dirt track before disappearing out of sight.

Finished with their walk, they arrive back at the car. The mother once again, opens the door
for her child before getting in herself. It’s starting to get dark, and the dials in the car glow.
Before setting off, the mum presses play on her phone and music begins to play. As they
drive, the boy holds his hand upon the speaker feeling the vibrations echo through his body.

EXT: HOME – EVENING

Cutting straight to their destination, they go back inside their home. They help one another
with making dinner, the mother stirring a large pan whilst, her son sets the table.
They are both sitting facing one another eating their food on the dining table. The mother
takes his plate once he’s finished and takes it over to the kitchen to clean. Briefly after she
does so, the boy gets up from his seat and goes upstairs to prepare for bed, following him
from his perspective the door is shut before the camera enters the room.

Sitting on the bottom of the bed the mother comforts her child before he goes to sleep, she
gets up kissing him on the forehead and hands him back the book sitting on his bedside table.
As he sits there, he reads for a moment before closing it and turning off his light.

debilitating. Your imagination is endless”.
