Chapter II
The team’s first business plan was a peso water refilling, where prospect
customers use coins to refill their Water jug, the target customers were students and
faculty of Zamboanga city state polytechnic college, but the team failed to invest in that
business since the pandemic covid-19 started to spread in Zamboanga, that resulted to
lockdown, people are not allowed to go outside unless it is for their necessities,
therefore the team considered an alternative business, since the main product was
water, The team used the water to make an ice and crashed it for a special halo-halo.
The business name ‘’Eat and Drink’’ came from our previous business name Drink and
added the “Eat” since halo halo is a special dessert with toppings. “Eat and Drink” is DTI
registered using the name of one of our business partners Gilbert N. Ingcoy. It is a small
online business home-based located at Tambis Drive, Baliwasan, Zamboanga city,
serving the local community. Faced with various competitors online, “Eat and Drink”
struggled, however, with confidence and capability to handle having the team’s skills
and knowledge in production, financial, managing and marketing.

Brief Description of the Business
“Eat and Drink” is a small online business home-based located at Tambis Drive,
Baliwasan Zamboanga City. Target markets to serve are the local community of
Zamboanga city. It offers different types of Halo-halo with Flavors such as: Ube
chocolate, Cream and Cheese.
“Eat and Drink” special halo-halo are composed of ingredients that are fresh,
healthy and tasty. The crashed ice of “Eat and Drink” is blended to ensure the taste
bud’s satisfaction. The cream and cheese flavors perfectly are delectable, the crashed
peanuts that is rich in protein, fiber, and Vitamin B, also the slice of mango has a great
source of Vitamin A and C, with cheese on top and vanilla wafers and vanilla ice cream
tastes differently as it fulfills the mouthwatering summertime treat. The Ube-Chocolate
flavor along with Oreo chocolates add more to its savory. Furthermore, “Eat and Drink”
special halo-halo offers a unique topping design that fits for instagramable photos
thereby boosting its sales.

Ube carnation, 1 ½ tbsp. of Nestle cream, then for the toppings, we design to put first
the biscuit Oreo, cheese, peanut, then the ube ice cream.

Ferwina A. Romanillos as the Manager- oversees the activities of worker’s, train and
evaluate also to assess the performance of the whole business operation against the

Aimee Mallari as the Financial Manager- her duties include financial planning,
reporting, long term business strategy and cash management
Gilbert N. Ingcoy as the Marketing Manager- is the one who is responsible to reach
the target market, come up with marketing strategies and market growth to advertise the
product through social media.
Trishia-mae G. Saicon as the Production Manager- is the one responsible to get the
procurement of raw materials in the market, also responsible for the management,
supervision and control of production processes.
Liezel F. Francisco as the Production Manager- is the one responsible to get the

“Eat and Drink has encountered business problems especially in rush hour and
dealing with the customers. It has encountered many problems especially during
business operation. Problems such as delivering the orders, due to traffic and a broken
motorcycle. Problems such as delayed deliveries can badly damage the reputation of
the store that can break customers trust.
Raw materials sometimes are out of stock that affects the products during the
operation. The ice cream used for toppings is a very big problem,since it melts easily .
As business is not known in the business industry, A need to really strive to advertise in
social media as Friends and family are not always there to help market the business.
Solution
Eat and Drink have done many ways just to avoid the operational errors.
Customers were asked the time of deliveries to give ample time to prepare the orders
30 minutes before the delivery time. Motorcycle is repaired and maintained well to
ensure it is in good condition so that it won’t break in times of delivery; The use of
freezer is a must to store ice cream, Advertising is strengthened through social media,
messenger, facebook page, of eat and drink, and other social media like instagram and
noise.cash.

WEEKLY JOURNAL ACTIVITIES
WEEK 1
The first week of our selling was so exciting but we were little worried.
worried of the customers might have something to say to us, especially we
are new ones and they might not like it, thank god they liked it, there were
many orders from friends, families and my ZCMC supervisor also there
were a repeated order, we are happy with the compliments and positive
comments of our customers, they said that our special halo2x is delicious
and it looks like they just bought halo2x in Mang inasal. For the past few
days, we have been busy working together with my group, we have
received orders from far away like Labuan, limpapa and sangali, sadly we
can’t deliver to limpapa and sangali because of the place is too far from the
city centre, we offer delivery free within Zamboanga city, but if it is too far.
We set a minimum of 10 orders. A.) Every morning we woke up 7 Am with
Liezel Francisco to go to the market and grocery to buy our ingredients.
Gilbert, Aimee and Trishia waited us to come back, at 8:30 am we started
to prepare since the customers want to deliver their orders at one (1) in the
afternoon, B.) My strategy to improve the sales was to create a Page for
our Halo-halo so that our prospects customer may see the product we sell.
C.) on the first week of our business, all I can say is we struggle a lot, Eat

WEEK 2
Our second week, three days in a row, we received small orders, because those days
were rainy, but still were happy that someone had ordered from us, the business would
not boom immediately, that’s why entrepreneurs are risk taker, I always advice to my
group members to be patience and just post on social media so that everyone notice
our product, A.) As usual my contribution to the group was to buy ingredients from the
market and prepares the ingredients, washing plates. 1.) Our strategies this week to
improve our sales was we run ads in social media (facebook) worth of 300 pesos, for 5
days, the result was good there are customers that we don’t know ordered us, and
Additional likes on our page. Also in this week we were planning to try the new two (2)
flavors. We were going to offer to our customers this two new flavor next week, in
addition this week we put the Peso water refilling machine in front of our landlady sari-
sari store, Sadly the water refilling is not saleable since it is pandemic, people are only
in their houses, that is why we have alternative business which is halo-halo to support
the water Refilling machine. 1.) We don’t encountered problem this week, only the sales
went down, the only solution was not to get tired to market online using our Page and
private accounts. That’s all for this week.
WEEK 3
Bad weather condition is what we always encountered within this week, we are not able
to sell well, but by God’s grace we still have even though it is only small amount of
orders, so far the week passed, still our business is kicking. For the entire week, the
routine is the same, we wake up early to prepare, the table of our production area, and I
go to the market to buy some ingredients, then when I came back, Aimee, Gilbert and
Trishia helped me to cook the ingredients, while waiting for the orders, then if we have
assignments or activities in class, we are making it so that we won’t be bothered by
those. We manage our time well. Also we posted online our products. This week we got
net loss. But it’s okay. That’s how entrepreneurs always encounter. Step by step till we
learn.

WEEK 4
The week is awesome; compared to last week; we are doing well in selling this week, so
far there is repeated orders from my supervisors in general hospital. They ordered us 3
times, I didn’t even expect it. So the problem we encountered as usual is the bad
weather too. But we still make it. there was also one of our customers rated our halo-
halo 7.5%, and gave his thought about our product, he said “the taste of your halo-halo
was good, it is delicious, but something is missing” since he eats ube+chocolate flavor,
according to him the ube is missing, he didn’t even taste the ube in it, he thought that
there is a literal ube in it, we used only carnation ube flavor since the ube was not
available. So I asked his understanding that we will improve our product next time. We
love comment either negative or positive we still accept it as opportunities to improve,
continuous improvement. In regards to my team, they are doing well, we help each
other. We also delivered 16 cups orders to Labuan this week. Liezel and trishia-mae
were the one who delivered and caught by rain while going there. So sad. We don’t
have choice.
WEEK 5
The week were the saddest week ever, we only get 17 cups for the entire week, and get
zero order in Saturday, maybe because the month of fasting for Muslims has entered so
people are busy. But we don’t have choice; we just continued to advertise our product
online. So that everyone notices it. so far so good, my group mates this week are good
and healthy doing well, and helping me out when it comes to preparing the ingredients
of our product.
WEEK 6
I saw my team has improved a lot, in my absence they are doing great job in preparing
the product, not totally absent but since I am fasting and my whole family in san roque
are sick, including me, so I came here in our production area maybe 2 times on this
week. Supposedly I should be the one who is in charge of preparing orders but I turn
over my position this week, even though I am not around I still do some works like
advertising our product online and listing the sales. They just message me if there are
sales. Today (Saturday) I am here preparing the sales journal, disbursement and
evaluation.

WEEK 7
The week is not like other weeks, our sales goes down, but we still continued to
advertise our product through online, in our facebook page and using our private
accounts, there’s a customer who reached us out and message us that they love our
product also they wanted to order that customer was our previous customer means it’s
a reapeted orders. We are struggling in our sales but we pursued because we know that
every successful business owners starts from what we experienced now, it is not easy
to compete with established business. That is why entrepreneurs are risk taker, and we
are entrepreneurs, we take the risk. This week would be our last week operation, we will
resume once we are done to cope up with our final requirements in school and the city
set to normal. Everyone in our group must stay at home for our safety.
WEEK 1
March 11, Thursday, this day we need to wake up early because we need to post early
in my social media account, this day is our first open in Business Online
Implementation. And all the members were cooperating and share their idea and the
opinion, and also we all excited for that day because this is it, After few days so very
busy and stressful face. I and trishia & liezel we had assigned for delivers of our order,
that’s why I’m always tired, but it’s okay for me because it’s part of our course, and the
other day of operation, our group are busy by selling our product in social media, so far
many friends on my social media directly message me to reservation of orders. Last day
of operation March 20, 2021 all group didn’t operate because we are all busy with our

fort polio, and then sad to know our laptop can’t cooperate, so that aimee and ferwina
that time we are busy to see to find laptop repair shop.
WEEK 2
March 21, it’s Sunday, second week of online business we have, all we need is wake up
early in the morning, my daily routine was to post my social media account, to promote
the special halo-halo, so far my friends on my social media account directly message &
inquire me how to order and how much the I explained them on how to order. I’m
thankful last few days I have receive one of my customer tell me our product is yummy
and delicious. Then after that, one of my customers ordered again. We thankful
because one of the mentors shown us her support. And yesterday Friday morning I

satisfied of our product. All of us happy because we don’t hear any negative feedback to
our customers, we hope continue positive feedback until we end our implementation.
This day it’s Saturday March 27,2021 we received 4 orders so while operating the
business and busy to deliver it, we are also doing our requirements that maam Doroja
has given us. We are managing our time.
WEEK 3
It’s Monday March 29,2021 new day & new struggle, By the way this week is so busy
with our online business, we sell the same the same product, Special Halo-halo, so far
our group will cooperate posting our product at social media account. Our strategies are
also free delivery. And as of this week I don’t have any problem encountered, because
mostly of our customers is satisfied to our product and they also gave good comments.
When it comes to delivery, we follow the safety protocol, we also used alcohol every
minute, we wear also mask and face shield. And then this day is April 3, 2021 our group
was busy because it is inventory day, and busy for doing our journal.

WEEK 4
April 5, 2021 it’s Monday morning, I wake up early morning because still have an
operation and busy for making the ingredients, for the online business. And I was
assigned to post the product in my social media account, every day that is my daily
routine. It just challenging for me every day because I really don’t know if there are
many to order, but GOD forbid were not a zero in one day. Just trust and think positive
always only. The days went by and we ordered one after another we thankful because
the one who ordered us was from Labuan and we were also thankful because the
special halo-halo did not melt either. And they even said that our product was delicious.
Saturday April10,2021 I wake up early morning because its inventory day and maam
doroja will meet to update our cash sales report and etc. but still thankful because we
still manage our time.
WEEK 5
April 12, 2021 Monday, is our 5th week of online business implementation. All we need
is to week up early in the morning because I was assigned to post the product in my
social media account, and to my group page account. So far this week is our sales is a
bit low because there was a typhoon, but day later someone message us to order
because the weather was okay and there was no typhoon. Saturday morning, we will
wake up early because this is the day will update our sales report and we were nervous
because might scold us because of our sales, were small but we explained why our
sales like that.
WEEK 6
April 19 2021 in the morning, the 6th week of the online business implementation, so we
have to work hard to graduate, we have to post on my social media account again and
again, so they can see our product. This week we thought of way to sell our product, we
made a different strategy with a price of 35 pesos and have a price of 60 pesos. GOD

forbid, our 35 peso will be sold this week, many customers ordered and direct message
us, they said the packaging and the taste of our product are good. April 23, 2021
Saturday it is inventory day, as usual our group is busy to do our daily task.
WEEK 7
This is the last week of the Online business because the Zamboanga City is under
MECQ all of
them is without Quarantine pass that’s why our business implementation is need to
close for the
sake of our health.
WEEK 1
March 11,2021 we had our soft opening to our Halo-halo business in our first day we
are feeling excited and at the same time we feeling nervous because we don’t know
how it’s going on and we don’t know if how many will order to our product because we
are new in the market and our business name and product are not known, but instead
we think negative , it gives as more motivation to use the marketing strategies we
posted online and we created a facebook page we introduced them our product and
shared to our friends online.
On our first week of our selling a lot of things happened in it. We don’t expect many
people will gonna order in our product which is the halo-halo given the fact , we are not
that well known in the market one of the farthest places we have delivered is barangay
labuan which is an hour’s drive to get there and it’s all worth it , because they have
many in orders which is 15 cups and luckily our halo-halo didn’t dissolve when we got
there and we gave it to our customer completely and presentable and we felt
overwhelming in their feedback, they are satisfied with the taste, and our others
customers in different barangays are still ordering with us. And those struggles that we

experienced during the delivering sometimes the motor that we used to deliver had
breaks down/ malfunction, luckily we can fix it right away so that it will not bother to the
customers, and so far that’s the struggled that we experienced in delivering. And for the
preparation to our products everyone has a task.and each one of us helping cooperate.
I’m so lucky to have my team.
WEEK 2
In our second week of selling we still lucky and surprised that our business getting and
getting more customers they by day and our sales is increasing which is that’s our
goals. and my routine every day is helping in preparing our ingredients and preparing
our products and sometimes we also go out to buy ingredients when there is a lot
shortage, and also I’m assigned in doing our sales report every day because l’ am the
treasure of the group, all of us has a different task in the group.
WEEK 3
Our third week of selling we still doing our daily routine which is we need to wake up
early and prepare the ingredients that we need to use in our special Halo-halo. and for
sales this week it a little bit low compared the previous week because of the bad
weather condition, that is why we are not able to deliver.
WEEK 4
Our week 4 we are doing good in selling this week we retrieve a bit because we
received much order compared last week most of them is repeated orders and also we
mark-up our product from 55 to 60 pesos because of the innovation that we made and
because of the suggestion of ma’am Doroja

Our 5th week of selling we still doing our daily routine which is we need to wake up early
and prepare the ingredients that we need to use in our special Halo-halo. and for sales

Our week 6 of selling we offered new sizes of Halo-halo a medium size that cost for 35
pesos we offered that for those customer who want to try our product and cannot afford
the large size halo-halo. that is our new game plan so that our sales will increase and it
works, our sales increased a little bit. in continuous of innovation eat and drink thinks of
adding 12 oz. cup of halo-halo for customers can’t afford the 60 pesos.
WEEK 7
Our week 7 was not as good like the previous week because due to highest cases of
covid in our city. And our city place under the MECQ, so most businesses were affected
so one of those affected our business, but there are still some to our previous customer
who is still contacting us to order. Because we still posted on our social media account
and on our Facebook page.
WEEK 1

At first week we started online selling our special halo-halo many ordered from us at
different barangays. And sometimes we alternate who will go to deliver together with our
driver ate liezel. In first day of our free delivery here in town gilbert is assigned for that
delivery, then on our second day our customersordered16 cups of our special halo-halo,
and Aimee is together with ate liezel to deliver it to barangay labuan and went back
quickly in baliwasan to deliver again in ayala. Gilbert and I is helping each other to make
our product and accepting orders from customers. The third day is, I’m assigned to
handle the ice case to deliver it in general Hospital, Mercedes, talon talon and also sta.
We’re so pressured because we have lot of orders to come but our service is only one
but due to our teamwork we have been able to deliver and our online selling smoothly.
Then to the fourth day ate ferwina ask ate liezel to deliver our product at the hospital
again at the same customer also. Fifth day we have order from cabatangan Deped, sta.
Maria, tetuan, and guiwan. Even its raining we still accepting orders from customers no
matter how stressful it is. Then after that day mama Luzviminda also ordered to us, and
we delivered it on san jose gusu where her house located. And then for 7 th day I got an
order from Brgy Tetuan, she is also Entrepreneurship graduate and ordered me 9cups
of special halo-halo.
The problem I was encountered is the customer’s location is far from our barangay then
if the order is only 1 or 2 we will have net loss because it’s not enough to deduct in our
extra expenses like gas. Sometimes we added fees just to come up with our
experiences. And I also observe how to increase our customers, so I need to share it in
social media so they can see our product and just message me if they want to order
some special halo-halo.
WEEK 2
This week we put the Peso refilling in front of the store so if someone is thirsty but don’t
have enough money to buy distilled water they can drink water for only one peso, every
day we have a schedule who is assigned to check the the refiller. And also we got a lot
of orders like last week in our special halo halo.
WEEK 3

In the third week the order is slackened because of holidays and also rainy, but there
are still those who ordered from talon-talon tetuan and tumaga. And we didn’t post to
social media about our halo-halo, we were also busy doing other activities that other
teachers would give us.
WEEK 4
In the fourth week we received a few orders because it was always raining, but even if
it’s raining someone still ordered us, and we also able to deliver from here in Baliwasan
to Limpapa, Labuan, Sta.maria, San jose gusu, Tugbuangan and also at General
hospital our loyal customers.
When we finish delivering ur halo-halo we will do our activities and assignment in other
subjects.
WEEK 5
In our 5th week of our online business our sales this week were so weak because it
always rains and also due to Ramadan, because most of our customers are fasting but
there are also those who order us once a day about seven cups of halo-halo sometimes
when it’s really low about two cups only. Even so we still deliver it for free.
WEEK 6
Today is the 6th week of our online business implementation, we need to make different
strategy so we thought of making anew and cheaper one if before 60 pesos now we
have 35 pesos, because of that there are people who order on our page and delivered
in divisoria, talon-talon, san jose guso and guiwan sometimes once a day we will deliver
twice because the other wait until 6pm so they can order. those are muslims customer,
they ordered for their iftaar.

Week 7 our sales dropped, due to the tightening of security implemented by the mayor,
but even so someone will have ordered on our Facebook page, because even though
the situation here is
like that, we still haven’t stopped posting on our social media account so that someone
can notice
and buy our special halo-halo.
WEEK 1
March 11, 2021 we started our business and we woke up early in the morning. Me and
Ferwina are going to the market to buy ingredients for the special halo-halo while the
three are waiting for us to arrive, and while we are not there they heat hot water so that
when we arrive we will just cook the ingredients such as banana, sago, red beans,
powdered gelatin, as we were using charcoal we don't have Gasul yet, when ferwina
and I arrived, they will take care of the ingredients and prepare it, while me I waited the
time when it will be delivered to customers who ordered us because that's my task, I
have motor, so I'm the Team’s delivery person. our first orders were from Barangay
Putik, we delivered six (6) cups and someone also ordered us of three (3) cups, our
starting time of deliveries were 12:30 in the afternoon, because that was the time our
customers requested. we had to leave the boarding house to deliver their orders but we
only had until 5pm and many more wanted to order from us. Those people I know,
friends, and my family, they also ordered because they enjoyed our special halo-halo
and I'm thankful to those who ordered from us because no one complained about the
taste. Also we delivered to Barangay Labuan fifteen (15 ) cups, I was afraid and worried

(2) ice box, while I am driving. Because she’s struggling holding it. And I am also
struggling because the space where I sit in a motor is small space. Still I manage and
we reach Labuan safely. After Labuan we also delivered again to ayala and la paz, we
reach home 8 in the evening. So far I encountered trouble in my motor, the tire was flat,
the light of my motor get wet of the rain, the whistle got malfunction, also we got wet by
the rain while delivering the orders and tired of driving. But it’s okay it’s a trials. The
week is Good, all our satisfied customers has a good feedback. And there was a
repeated order from my friends. Im so happy for that. My group also is good we are
helping each other.
WEEK 2
March 21 we bought a small stove at Gonzales Gasul so that we wouldn't have trouble
cooking our ingredients, because when we use carbon we take a long time to cook the
ingredients, as usual ferwina and i do every day, we buy ingredients in the morning and
ready for orders, but this week we only recieved a few orders unlike last week, maybe
people don't have any more money, but we're still working on a way for someone to
order from us, we're posting the product on facebook what we are selling, we are still
grateful despite of small orders at least there is order, also this week Ma'am macky
ordered from us, she called me to order 4 cups and we brought it to her house, we are
thankful that ma'am macky still supporting us, even though she doesn't handle us
anymore. This week I can say that we are not too stressed because we only have a
small order, but we are not loss. It’s okay time will come, we just have to be patience. I
don’t encountered problem of my motor this week because we get fixed it. we deliver to
cabatangan, southcom, talon-talon, tumaga, sta cruz. And canelar. Our deliveries were
smooth; no problems we face this week
WEEK 3
Monday of march 21, 2021 in the morning we all started to wake up to prepare those
who ordered us a special halo-halo and we still have free delivery, when it comes to
delivery we have to follow the protocol because of the Corona Virus we use the face
shield, face mask, alcohol to your hands and when we finished deliveries trishia and I
went home because we still have to do our assignment in the online class one day
passed we don’t have many customers since holy week April 1,2&3 2021. We also
doing the requirements on various subject.

April 5 2021 on Monday we started waking up again in the morning to prepare for those
who ordered us and we also started working together to make the ingredients for our
special halo-halo and we delivered to him\his barangay one day we delivered in
Sta.Maria, Tumaga, Labuan, limpapa and trishia’s rain also caught up with us on the
way and we also caught up at might because of the rain and on Saturday April 1 2021 in
the morning I woke up early because maam would meet us to update our sales.
WEEK 5

wake up in the morning for our work such as posting on social media account and our

someone texted to us order Saturday morning we had to wake up in the morning to tell
maam know our sales report and we were all nervous because our sales were low but

April 19 2021 in the morning we started again to do online business implementation for
us to graduate. So I posted repeatedly on our social media account and our group page
account so they can see out special halo-halo.
This week we thought of another way for product strategy and we already have the
price of 35 pesos and 60 pesos. April 23 Saturday it’s time to inventory day our group is
busy to do our daily task.
WEEK 7
This week 7, due to covid cases and also had MECQ. we stopped delivering special
halo-halo for the safety of each of us because the mayor of Zamboanga City ordered
that is forbidden to leave the house so, even though many people ordered on our

Facebook page, we need to stop the operation, because of the current situation, we
stopped to post on social media.

Covid-19 Pandemic is not a hindrance to execute the
desired Business, during the business operation of Eat and Drink,
the special halo-halo is considered as one of the best refreshing,
our very own Filipino favorite dessert in Zamboanga City. The
products is one of a kind, the ingredients of the product are fresh,
healthy and tasty. The crashed ice of Eat and Drink are blended
to ensure the taste bud satisfaction. The cream and cheese flavor
perfectly attracts customer, the crashed peanut, slice of mango
with cheese on top and vanilla wafers and vanilla ice cream tastes
differently it fulfilled the mouthwatering summertime treat. The
