Objective of the Project

The main objective of the project is to enrich the ETIM features of the product on behalf of client
with high accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery
How can we do this
The client has provided us with the list of excel files with detail of products with every product
belonging to the particular EC Class (group of the products with similar products) along with
the list of product features to be looked into the relevant catalogue (provided by the client) and
website (listed by the client). We will look for the product (Product ID provided in files) in the
catalogue and website and update the features in the provided excel sheet.
Who will be involved?
Supervisors – Will perform final review of the files reviewed by members, guide the leader and
members, communicate with the client, and provide bridging role between client, leader, and
members
Leader – Will review the files worked by the member, guide members in working and any issues
raised by the members, and lead the weekly update meetings
Members – Will work on the file as per the guidance provided, communicate regarding any issues
face and upload the worked file in the drive in the provided folder
Tools Required

• Excel Knowledge – As we will be working on excel file


• Google Translate/Google Lens – As we will be working on Dutch language and there will be
constant need of searching and understanding language to English
• Web Browser
• Analytical Mind
• Knowledge of ETIM, ETIM Class, ETIM Features, ETIM Values, 2ba porta l
What we will do
Step 1
The assigned file needs to be arranged with fitting of columns and display of data values in rows
(Row 4) through use of wrap text and autofit and Freeze pane.

You can notice that the columns have displayed all the data and row no 4 have displayed the values
filled here.
Points to Remember

1. In Row 2 (Highlighted in Blue Box) such as N, L, A and R. These means value format which
needs to be input such as below:
N – Numeric Value as measurements, numbers. E.g., 3.00mm, 7.00inch, 1, 5, etc.
L – Logical Value as in True or False
A – Alphabetic Value as names. E.g., Aluminium, Others, etc.
R – Values are in range. E.g., 20mm:50mm
2. In Row 4 (Highlighted in Orange Box) you will notice some values. These are the available
ETIM values of the features listed in ETIM website, and the respective feature need to be filled
from among those listed values only.
3. In Row 5 and 6 (Highlighted in Green Box) you will notice the titles and it is the ETIM product
feature which we need to find and fill.
4. In Column A (Highlighted in Purple Box) you will see the product code which will be unique
for each product. This code will be used for searching products and filling the value. It is the
most important link in completing the work
5. In Column B (Highlighted in Yellow Box) you will see the product title. It is related to the
product names which will be used to match and develop confidence over the product found
through product code.
Step 2
The client has provided as with two manuals and three websites for searching the product and we
will use those in following order for finding the feature values.

Copy the value of product from product code and search the product code in the Manuals and
Websites.
Tips: You can also use the scanner in mobile to scan the QR code next to product to see
the details.
Incase you dont find the products by using product code, you can also try with the related GTIN
code of the product. The related GTIN code of the product can be found in the next excel file (the
GTIN code may be merged within the EC class file which will be updated later to team). An
example of the related product code is shown below:

Use this information in the catalogue. Translate the information using google translate if needed.
And fill in the information as required.
If this catalogue doesn’t provide all the information required then we move to second, third and
fourth order of priority and find this products info and fill for the desired information in the
working sheet.
Before filling the values we will look if the feature is listed in ETIM website. (https://prod.etim-
international.com/)
It is must and compulsory that the valued filled in our worksheet should be in Dutch Language
only. However, This language can be changed to English for understanding the feature value.

Note:

• ETIM version should be ETIM 8.0 as highlighted in orange box. If this version cannot be found
you can use the version tab (found in the left side of the image inside orange oval) to change
the version to ETIM 8.0. Always use this version to find out the availabe product descriptions
and Description values.
• In this case, the materiaal feature will be filled only using the values found in corresponding
description column such as Aluminium, Kunstof, Roestvastaal, Staal, Hout and Overig. Other
values except this cannot be filled in the feature value.
• If the product feature is found in this website but not in the working sheet or if it is found in
the working sheet but not in website, then we need to comment on such features and note it
out for communication regarding this matter to the client.
Step 3
If all the values are found and looked after in the aforesaid priority order sources, then you will
upload it in the prescribed drive folder and update the same in Work Distribution Summary
(Detail orientation will follow afterwards)
Note:
You can use the 2ba site and other reliable website based on the exact product for reference
purpose only such as to identify and understand the products, product categories and product
features. But we cannot use such features values for completing our work.

What is 2ba?
It is the repository site which list out all the available products by the listed manufactures,
distributors and retailers listing out the product classes, features, prices, and so on. Demo will be
shown in orientation.
There may be cases where certain products doesnt belong to the current class which needs to
migrated to correct EC Class. This will be done by Team Leaders and Supervisors. And such
products will be highlighted in yellow in each file which is not required to update by team
members.
