How to Create the Amazon PPC Sales and ACoS Forecast

How to Forecast Your Amazon PPC Sales and ACoS with the Search Terms Report

1. Login to your Amazon Seller Central account here: https://sellercentral.amazon.com


2. Click on Advertising Reports 
3. Request the latest 60 day search terms report from Seller Central. Be sure to use an accurate file
naming system because we want to archive this data and keep it forever. 
4. Once the request is complete download the search terms report and open with Microsoft Excel. 
5. Apply all necessary filters in Excel and transfer refined datasets to isolate your crushers. Please refer
to “Product Targeting” below to see how it’s done.

7. Create your PPC Sales and ACoS Forecast. To see how this is done, please refer “Product
Targeting” below.

PRODUCT TARGETING

1. Sheet 1: Filter Portfolio, choose only one portfolio. Copy and paste to sheet 2. Rename it SKU1.
2. Sheet 2: Filter SKU1, filter Customer Search terms “does not contain b0s”. Copy and paste to sheet
Rename it as b0 filters.
3. Sheet 3: On sheet 2, filter 7 Day Total Orders “greater or equal to 3”. Copy everything and paste to
sheet 4. Rename it as Crushers.
4. Sheet 4: On Sheet 3, insert 1 column to column J between I and K. Put “DEDUPLICATION” as
heading and insert DEDUP formula “ =IF(ISERROR(MATCH(I2,$G$2:$G$20000,0)),"Unique","Duplicate").
Filter DEDUP column select only unique ones. Copy everything and paste to sheet 4. Rename it as
Crushers Unique.
5. Sheet 5: Click Insert on Menu and click Pivot Table. On the pivot table, drag Customer Search Term
under ROWS while drag - Click, Spend, 7 Days Total Orders and 7 Day Sales to Values. Add columns
3 columns:
a. ACOS : Formula : = (spend/sales)
b. CPC : Formula : = (spend/clicks)
c. NB : Filter ACOS to “< target ACOS”, then : =(CPC*1.1)
Filter ACOS to “> target ACOS”, then : =(CPC*.8)

6. Sheet 6: Back to sheet 2, filter 7 Day Total Orders “between 1 and 2”. Copy everything and paste to
sheet 6. Rename it as Mysteries.
7. On Sheet 6, insert 1 column to column J between I and K. Put “DEDUPLICATION” as heading and
insert DEDUP formula “ =IF(ISERROR(MATCH(I2,$G$2:$G$20000,0)),"Unique","Duplicate"). Filter DEDUP
column select only unique ones. Copy everything and paste to sheet 4. Rename it as Mysteries Unique.
8. Follow sheet 5 using the mysteries sheet. For Mysteries pivot CPC only phrase and broad are being
compute.
If Exact CPC is missing:
Crushers:
Use Phrase CPC *1.2
Myteries:
Phrase CPC level

If Exact and phrase are missing:

Crushers:
Use Broad CPC *1.33
Mysteries:
Use Broad CPC level

if all match type are missing (auto campaign):


Crushers:
Exact=CPC Value*1.33

For Mysteries Bid Data, compute only for Broad and Phrase (same process with Crushers)

1. Sheet 8&9:
a. Add 2 sheets for Crushers Keywords and Mysteries Keywords
b. For crushers keywords, go to crusher’s unique sheet click insert and create Pivot Table. Click
Customer Search Term and drag it to Rows section. Copy everything and paste it to Crushers
Keywords sheet you created.
c. For mysteries keywords, go to mysteries’ unique sheet click insert and create Pivot Table. Click
Customer Search Term and drag it to Rows section. Copy everything and paste it to Mysteries
Keywords sheet you created.

CAMPAIGN LAUNCH:

A. Format ASINs so Amazon can identify them when campaign is uploaded


1. Copy ALL ASINs from Bid Data Sheet, then using the ASIN Formatter Template paste under
“Unformatted ASINs” column
2. Copy all “ Formatted ASINs” over to the Bulk File Template and paste in “Keyword/Product
Targeting Column”

B. Product Targeting Bulk File Template - final file that will be uploaded on Amazon to launch
campaign
1. Campaign : (SKU1 - SP CVRASINS - Mysteries - Date) then copy to the rest of the rows for
Campaign and Ad Group
2. Columns for Match Type up to the end copy to all the rows with ASINs
3. Max Bid: values from NB (Bid Data Sheet)
4. Campaign Budget : 8 for crushers and 12 for mysteries
5. Campaign Start Date:
6. Campaign Targeting Type: Manual
