1) Arcgis For Desktop Basic (Arcview)

ArcGIS is a geospatial software used to view, edit, manage and analyze geographic data. It offers tools to query data, analyze spatial relationships between map features, and overlay layers to discover interrelated data in different locations. ArcGIS consists of three product levels - ArcGIS for Desktop Basic (ArcView) for viewing and simple edits, ArcGIS for Desktop Standard (ArcEditor) which adds advanced editing and raster conversion, and ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced (ArcInfo) with full geoprocessing and data management capabilities. Each level provides additional GIS functionality.

ArcGIS is a geospatial software used to view, edit, manage and analyze geographic data

which has been developed by Esri. With ArcGIS Desktop, you can query data; analyze spatial
relationships, such as distance, intersection and containment among map features but also
overlay layers to discover how different types of data are interrelated at a particular location.
It offers a full set of spatial analysis tools to perform advanced GIS data analysis, modelling
and data conversion.
ArcGIS consists of three product levels. They include the following;
1) ArcGIS for Desktop Basic (ArcView)
This is the entry level licensing level of ArcGIS Desktop used to view data and do
edits on shapefiles and simple personal geodatabases. It is a fully featured GIS for
visualizing, analyzing, and creating data with a geographic component. It consists of
address, postcode, GPS location, city, etc. It allows one to query data to find answers
to questions about distance and the relationships between the different layers with the
map.

2) ArcGIS for Desktop Standard (ArcEditor)

This is the mid-level license of the ArcGIS Desktop software product designed for
editing of spatial data. It provides tools for creation of maps and spatial data used in
GIS. It has all the functionality of ArcView and has additional advanced features for
editing and data creation.
With ArcEditor, you can perform raster-to-vector conversion and create data from
scanned maps. It also enables multiple users to edit data simultaneously. It supports
multiple workflows, manage work order processing, and implement quality assurance
procedures for validating edits.

3) ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced (ArcInfo)

It is the highest level of licensing in the ArcGIS Desktop product line. It includes all
the capabilities of ArcView and ArcEditor. It also adds the advance geoprocessing
and data conversion functionality. It provides all tools to build and manage a
complete intelligent GIS including maps, data, metadata, geo-data sets and workflow
models. It allows users the most flexibility and control in all aspects of data building,
modelling, analysis and map display.
Conclusively, all three license levels provide the tools and environment for map creation and
interactive visualization. They share the same core applications, user interface and
development environment. Each product provides additional GIS functionality as you move
from ArcView to ArcEditor to ArcInfo.
