1 EXT. SLUMS - NIGHT 1

JANE- wearing her fast-food chain uniform, brings with her a
plastic bag with a take-out box dinner inside, she holds it
firmly as she enters the slums filled with drunk people every
corner, reeks of trash on the ground, with only warm dimmed
lights for a guide to see. She bumps into a group of children
playing, and almost loses the dinner she was holding when the
children tries to take it away from her. She walks hurriedly
hugging the plastic bag, and immediately opens the door of
their house.
2 INT. HOUSE - NIGHT 2

Jane gets a tight hug from POPOY-her little brother the
moment she closes the door. She pats her brother's head and
gives him a cold siopao from her bag, as she looks at her
parents fighting in front of them.
JANE
Punta ka muna dun kina Aling Silya,
manuod ka ng TV-balik ka lang pag
tapos ng isang palabas ok?
JANE'S FATHER
Magdamag kang "naglalaba", tapos
wala kang nabibigay samin kahit
piso? Totohanin mo nga ako, san ba
napupunta yang sweldo mo ha?
Nagtratrabaho ka ba talaga?
Jane's mom scoffs of disbelief, to what Jane's Father has
said to her, as she stops sweeping the floor.
JANE'S MOTHER
(pissed)
Aba? Ang kapal naman ng mukha mong
palamunin ka! Eh ikaw nga tong
nakahilata sa bahay buong araw!
Mamatay ka nalang hayop ka!
Jane's mom throws the walis tambo on the floor and walks out
of the house, she looks at Jane angrily and bumps Jane on the
way out, Jane runs to her father and calms her father down
that's having difficulty breathing.
She gets her father's medicine from their kitchen while
holding a glass of water, and brings it to her father
JANE'S FATHER

Kaya ko na ito anak, umakyat ka na

don. Alam kong marami ka pang
aaralin. Pagpasensyahan mo na kami
ng nanay mo ha? Naawa lang kasi ako
sayo, tingnan mo-ang payat payat mo
na kakatrabaho at aral, wala man
lang kaming maitulong sayo, ikaw pa
tumutulong sa amin.
JANE
Pa, kahit ganito tayo-mahal ko kayo,
kaya ko din ito ginagawa. Hayaan mo
magiging okay din ang lahat pag
nakagraduate na ako ng college,
dadalhin kita sa hospital para
mapagamot ka na.
3 INT. JANE’S ROOM - NIGHT 3

Jane walks into her dusty room and looks for her broken lamp,
as she was stretching her hand looking for it she bumps it
into the wall causing a cork board to fall unto the broken
lamp she's looking for, she turns it on and taps it a few
times before it lights up, and hangs the cork board back
nicely and takes her time to look at she looks at her drawing
of her and her brother in a nice house and rainbows in it.
JANE
(faint smile)
Magiging okay din lahat poy, tiwala
ka lang, hindi mo mararanasan ang
naranasan ko
she stretches her body and shouts
JANE
Let's go!
Jane changes her clothes into more comfy ones-then opens her
notebooks and starts studying while eating her take-out
dinner.
4 INT. JANE'S ROOM - DAY 4

Jane finishes studying and jumps off to her bed, she closes
her eyes for a few seconds and her alarm clock goes off. She
sighs as she turns it off and gets up from bed, she yawns
loudly and stretches her body as wide as she can. As she was
about to go downstairs she stops in the middle of the stairs,
to see her parents arguing again-over an imperfectly cooked
sunny-side up egg.

JANE'S FATHER
Ano ba yan? Itlog na nga lang hindi
mo pa maluto ng maayos?
JANE'S MOTHER
Pagpasensyahan mo na, alam mo namang
pasmado na kakalaba yung kamay ko.
JANE'S FATHER
Napaka-walang kwenta mo talagang
babae, wala ka nang maiambag sa
gastusin, wala ka pang magawang
maayos!
Jane's mom drops the plate she was washing forcefully, and
gets out of the house. Jane lets out a heavy sigh, as she
spaces out.
5 EXT. SLUMS - DAY 5

Jane walks hurriedly on the way to their home carrying two
buckets full of water, as she clutches a pack of pancit
canton beneath her arm.
6 INT. HOUSE - DAY 6
Jane cooks the pancit canton she brought, and serves it to

her father before rushing to wear her shoes. She grabs a tiny
plastic with pancit canton and gets out of the house. She
bids her sick father goodbye, and signals him to drink his
medicines.
7 INT. FAST FOOD CHAIN - NIGHT 7

As she was about to set up her working area to cook hotdogs
and buns, she gets a text message from the school she was
applying for a scholarship grant. She stops everything she’s
doing and checks the message.
PHONE MESSAGE
Congratulations! You have been
accepted for the scholarship grant.
She covers her mouth out of shock and jumps out of joy as she
finds out that she got accepted. Her celebration was cut-off
after she got her first customer, she works happily for the
rest of her shift, excitedly waiting for it to finish and
tell her family about the big news.
8 EXT. SLUMS - NIGHT 8

Jane walks happily this time as she passes by the usual scene
around her neighborhood. She brings with her one box of
lechon manok in a plastic bag for her and her family to feast
on as they celebrate the good news.
9 INT. HOUSE - NIGHT 9
As she enters the house she sees her father sleeping, she
walked silently to not wake him up and she suddenly hears a
loud thud and little laughs coming from their kitchen. She
comes to that area to check it to only see her mother pinned
in their back door kissing another man. She stands there in
shock, dropping everything she's holding, which caused his
father to wake up from his slumber, he squints his eyes as he
sees her daughter
JANE'S FATHER
Nak?
Jane didn't respond, she's lost in her thoughts as her knees

weakens and she falls on the floor. Her father curious as to
what her daughter is looking comes to her direction. Jane
slowly scrunches her chest hardly before letting out a
frantical scream.
JANE
Ma?! Paano mo nagawa samin toh?
Bakit?!
Jane's mom and the man stopped out of shock realizing that
they were caught-she couldn't move an inch of her body, as
the man rushes out of the house.
Jane's father couldn't carry the shock that he also falls and
gets a heart attack.
Jane only gets back to her senses when she sees her brother
crying and panicking while holding their father. Jane rushes
to her father with her weak body as their mother also comes
closer to them. Jane pushes her mother away out of anger.
JANE
(Sobbing)
Umalis ka dito! Kasalanan mo toh
lahat!
JANE'S MOTHER
(Teary eyed)
Nak-I'm so-
JANE
Umalis ka! Wala kang kwentang ina!

Jane's mom walks out of the house crying.
10 INT. JANE’S ROOM - DAY 10

Jane wakes up from her slumber with swollen eyes and gets out
of bed. As she lifts the cup of water from her table, she
sees a letter underneath it.
JANE'S MOTHER
(V.O.)
“Isinama ko ang kapatid mo sa akin
papuntang kabilang probinsya, sa
lahat ng pagkukulang ko sa iyo ito
nalang ang maibibigay ko, ang
mabawasan ang bigat na dinadala mo
sa paghahanap buhay at pag-aaral
para sa ating pamilya. Ako na ang
bahala sa pagpapalaki sa kapatid mo.
Mag ingat ka palagi, at alagaan mo
ang sarili mo”
Jane immediately gets out of her room.
10A INT. HOUSE - DAY 10A
Jane sees her pale father on the couch with his eyes closed.
JANE
Pa? Nasan si Popoy?
Jane's father didn't respond, she shrugs it off thinking that
his father might be tired from what happened last night and
continues to look for her brother around the house.
She goes to her father again to ask him about her brother and
mother.
JANE
Pa? Alam mo ba sa'n pumunta si nanay
at si popoy?
Jane-worried, goes to check her father's temperature but got
shocked that his body has gone cold, she checks her father's
pulse and finds nothing. She panics as she shakes her father
to wake him up but it didn't work.
Jane's knees weakens again as she falls on the floor, pulling

her own hair out of frustration as no tears gets out of her
eyes anymore. Sadness and anger fills the expression of her
face.

11 INT. JANE’S ROOM - NIGHT 11

Jane hugs her knees while sitting on her bed, her dark room
is only filled by the lights coming from outside.Jane rarely
eats, and sleeps all day-until she looks at her dream board.
This gives her a little hope, so she stands up from her bed
and gets out of the house to buy some food for herself, but
yet again we see her coming back to her room holding another
bag full of junk foods.
Jane’s room is now reeking of junk food everywhere, much
worse than before. From energy drinks, coffee, canned food,
fast food take outs, and chips. She coughs while drinking her
coke, which causes some droplets to get into the small mirror
on her table. This gets her to look in the mirror, & makes
her see her reflection, she notices darker under eyes,
chapped lips, and she even got thinner than before. She
suddenly feels her head sting from the inside and starts to
have a blurry vision. The last thing she sets her eyes upon
is her dream board, before she accidentally bumps her head
into the corner of her table, and falls on the floor
unconscious forever.
