MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY

Name: Lopez, Vivien Leigh, I Date: September 27, 2021

Grade & Strand: 12 ABM Activity No.: 3

YOUR INITIAL TASK:

ANSWER: TITANIC

If the Titanic sank somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, how do you think the news reached people
in England and New York at that time?

Through the first news of the sinking of the Titanic came in the form of
wireless transmissions, rockets and lamp signals sent out by the stricken ocean
liner and picked up by nearby vessels. Also, to those survivors. The people who
survived are the ones who spread the news to England and New York.

If the Titanic sank today, in what format would people receive or read the news?

If the titanic sank today people would be lamenting all over the internet,
posting mournful messages, conspiracy theories and all the things they want to
say.
I think it would be the talk of the town for maybe a month or so then they'll get
over it. And it wouldn't be so much a ruckus if it happens today. It wouldn't be
such a drama.

TASK 2: PROCESSING QUESTIONS

1. Media has given political parties the tools to reach large numbers of people
and can inform them on key issues ranging from policies to elections. In theory, media
should be seen as an enabler for democracy, having better-educated voters would lead
to a more legitimate government. Human societies function on the basis of specialized
work patterns: In the society, the socially assigned tasks of individuals differ basing on
their age and A society can function smoothly and efficiently only when there is a
provision of role differentiation and role assignment to different individuals and groups.
The role of media depends on the people who are behind it. The control should start
from us. As an individual, start thinking before we spread the news. We cannot expect
the society to change if one person from the group cannot do it on his own.

2. I think social media has created a great impact in my life, most greatly by
giving me the chance to form friends with people I might never have met otherwise.
And now making it even easier to stay in-tuned with old friends distant. It helps me
communicate with others by chatting, calling etc. Mostly it made me less practical to
form new friends personally. Because friendships supported by online
communication is very easy. The influence of all media affects the planet around us
and therefore the way others perceive it. a number of us are ready to distinguish
what's being shown from what's shown to us and what actually exists. Many folks
simply obey, unaware that a lot of our opinions are made and not our own.
