Kali Linux History

Kali Linux traces its origins back to several key developments in operating systems starting in the 1960s including Multics OS, Unix, and BSD. It was built on GNU/Linux, an operating system developed in the 1980s and 1990s combining the GNU operating system with the Linux kernel. Kali Linux was first released in 2013 by Offensive Security as a penetration testing and ethical hacking platform built on Debian GNU/Linux.
