Definition of Terms a Genre of Popular Culture

Name: CHESTA DAICEE C. PATARAY Score: _______________

Course: BSBA Human Resource Management Class time: TTH-1:00-2:30

Direction: Research and read on the terms stated below. Write or encode a definition of it.
(15 pts.)

Write here:

A. Visual Arts

1. Photography

The art, practice, or occupation of photographing with a camera. The action of

someone who uses a camera; the technique or practice of collecting photos, either on
light-sensitive film or electronically in digital form, from which visible pictures can be
produced.

2. Tattoo

A tattoo is a type of body alteration that involves the insertion of ink, dyes, and/or
pigments into the dermis layer of the skin to create a design. Tattooing is the art of
creating tattoos.

3. Vandals/Manipulation

Vandals or manipulation is the deliberate destruction of a piece of art. The object,

which is normally shown in public, is damaged as a result of the act and remains in place
immediately afterward. The notion that a form of artistic expression might be labeled
vandalism is a novel one.

4. Comics

Comics (or, less generally, sequential art) is a type of visual art that combines images
with text, usually in the form of speech balloons or image captions. It has evolved into a
literary medium with several subgenres, originally intended to illustrate caricatures and
entertain through the use of hilarious and frivolous stories.

5. Editorial

Editorial illustration is art made in reaction to written content, usually a magazine,

newspaper, or blog piece.

B. Digital Art

1. Anime

Anime is a sort of animation that encompasses a variety of genres present in other

mediums; it is frequently wrongly labeled as a genre. The term anime is a Japanese term
that refers to all animated works, regardless of style or origin.

2. VLOGS

A video blog, is a type of blog in which the medium is video. Vlog entries
frequently include embedded video or a video link as well as supporting text, images,
and other metadata. Entries can be recorded in a single take or in several parts. On the
video-sharing platform YouTube, the vlog category is very popular.

3. Tiktok

TikTok is a social media platform where users may create short films. Filters, text,
sounds, and music may all be added by users, and it's especially popular for making
imaginative, lip-synched music videos. Users interact with information by scrolling
through a newsfeed, reacting to it, and navigating using hashtags.

4. Digital poster

Computer-generated prints on paper, canvas, or vinyl using highly saturated,

pigment-based archival inks. These prints are frequently made with large-scale inkjet
printers that produce a consistently toned image by spraying a fine mist of microscopic
ink droplets onto the surface. A digital print is only regarded an original print if it was
created with the intention of being a one-of-a-kind piece of art; it is not a copy or replica
of an artwork created in another media.

C. Applied Arts

1. Decorative Arts

The decorative arts are arts and crafts that focus on the creation of beautiful products
that also have a purpose. Interior design is frequently included, although architecture is
not.

2. Creative hobbies

A creative pastime provides you with something to look forward to outside of your
regular routine, allowing you to "turn off" your thoughts and relieve stress.

3. Fashion Trends

primarily through visual and haptic characteristics applied to clothing and apparel products, and
are frequently regarded as fads or short-term trends.
