I. ALVEOLAB preparation

▪ Switch OFF the ALVEOLAB and disconnect it electrically.

▪ Depending on the version of the USB module, you will need to mount the kit in two different ways:

- For the cylindrical USB version shown below, please refer to chapters II and IV.

- For the rectangular USB version shown below, please refer to chapters III and V.

II. Disassembly of the cylindrical USB module

▪ Removing the upper hood

Before removing the hood from any instrument, its power supply must be
disconnected.

1- Remove the 4 screws from the upper hood (A and B) with a 4mm Allen key.
2- Remove the upper hood by holding it vertically.

▪ Opening the electrical compartment door

1- Unscrew the two (captive) locking screws from the electrical compartment door.
2- Open the door.

Limit the opening of the door so as not to force the door's built-in
connections.

Make sure the cables do not catch when closing the door.

▪ Removing the old cables

NOTE: Electronic circuits are sensitive to electrostatic discharge.

When handling, take the customary precautions (antistatic floor, grounded bracelet…).

1- Disconnect and remove the USB cable between the door and the PLC board.

2- Remove the RJ45 cable connecting the ALVEO board and the PLC board.

3- Replace with the double cable (ALB-S52) supplied with the KIT. Respect the cable routing.

▪ Removing the USB connector

1- Loosen the nut on the back of the door.

2- Remove the USB connector.

III. Disassembly of the rectangular USB module

▪ Opening the electrical compartment door

1- Unscrew the two (captive) locking screws from the electrical compartment door.
2- Open the door.

Limit the opening of the door so as not to force the door's built-in
connections.

Make sure the cables do not catch when closing the door.

1- Disconnect the double RJ45 cable on the terminal block of the USB module using the 3.5mm flat
screwdriver.

2- Disconnect the ground wire at the back of the door with the 7mm socket wrench.

3- Remove the USB module by unscrewing the nuts with a 7mm socket wrench.

IV. Serial module mounting for doors with cylindrical USB module

1- Remove the protective film from the double-sided adhesive.

2- Pass the plastic nut and the rubber seal before inserting the ALB-1013 serial cable into the door
opening.

3- Insert the new ALB-1013 serial cable through the opening in the door and the opening in the new
plate.

4- Place the rubber part of the cable gland on the serial cable (ALB-1013) at the level of the heat
shrink tubing. Close the two parts of the cable gland (make sure that the direction of the gland is
as shown below). Glue the plate to the door, using the cable gland to centre the assembly on the
door.

5- Hand tighten the nut supplied with the PC-584 QVT cable gland and then tighten moderately with
a 26mm open-end wrench.

6- Connect the wires of the ALB-1013 serial cable as shown below by prying with a 3.5mm flat
screwdriver into the slots provided (see below).

7- Connect the ALB-S52 RJ45 double cable as shown below.

8- Connect the RJ45 double cable to the boards as shown below.

9- You can close the door and tighten the 2 screws with a 4mm Allen key.

Make sure the cables do not catch when closing the door.

V. Serial module mounting for doors with rectangular USB module

1- Insert the new ALB-1013 serial cable into the door opening.

2- Place the rubber part of the cable gland on the serial cable (ALB-1013) at the level of the heat
shrink tubing. Close the two parts of the cable gland (make sure that the direction of the gland is
as shown below).

3- Place the rubber seal, hand tighten the nut supplied with the cable gland and then tighten
moderately with a 26mm open-end wrench.

4- Fix the two ALB-1015 spacers with 2 HF4I nuts and a 7mm socket wrench. The spacers should be as
parallel as possible to the door side.

5- Fix the ALB-1014 plate with 4 CHC4x6I screws, 4 DE4I washers and a 3mm Allen key.

6- Connect the wires of the ALB-1013 serial cable as shown below by prying with a 3.5mm flat
screwdriver into the slots provided (see below).

7- Connect the ALB-S52 RJ45 double cable as shown below.

8- You can close the door and tighten the 2 screws with a 4mm Allen key.

Make sure the cables do not catch when closing the door.
