Bean Plant
Germination is the sprout of a seed after it has been planted in soil and remained
dormant for a certain period of time. The seed coat ruptures and the embryonic
root grows into the ground to extract key nutrients and minerals. The cotyledon
emerges and produces the growing shoot's first leaves. This is called a Life Cycle,
and this have many steps:
1. Imbibition: water fills the seed.
2. The water activates enzymes that begin the plant's growth.
3. The seed grows a root to access water underground.
4. The seed grows shoots that grow towards the sun.
5. –
6. ,0,The shoots grow leaves and begin photomorphogenesis.

Objective
 Observe what changes can a bean plant have with alcohol added
(Plant 1). And compare it with a normal bean plant (Plant 2).

Scientific Question
 Will the alcohol affect the growth of Plant 1?

Hypothesis
 I believe that the Plant 1 will be affected by the alcohol. I believe this
because alcohol is a component that can affect too much living
things, burning them. I think this will happen with the bean, it will be
burned and it will not grow.

Materials
 Alcohol
 Cotton
 A bean
 Cup
 Water
 Balcony (Sun)

Procedure

1. Plant two bean seeds in two different cups.

2. In both of them you will add in one plan alcohol (just once) with water,
and in the other just water.
3. Put them in the sunlight every day.
4. Everyday add a little bit of water in both of them
5. Collect data for approximately 15 days.

Analysis
 The alcohol burned Plant 1
 Plant 1 did not let the bean grow.
 Plant 2 had a bigger growth than Plant 1.
 Plant 2 had a normal growth, as it was expected.
 Almost every day, Plant 2 had more growth than the day before.

Conclusion
 At the end of this experiment, I can conclude a main thing that
answer all the questions in the experiment and basically, is the same
as the hypothesis I had before de experiment. The alcohol burned
Plant 1, without letting it have a normal growth. In the other side,
Plant 1 had a normal growth as it was expected.
