Letter of Motivation
To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my interest in “The neutrino nature through the study of the Xenon
136 double-beta decays on the PandaX-III experiment” at the PHENIICS - Particules, Hadrons,
Énergie et Noyau : Instrumentation, Imagerie, Cosmos et Simulation.

I am particularly keen to apply for are an excellent match for my academic background. While
studying for my Bachelor in physics and my Master in Nuclear Physics at the University of
Yaoundé I, Cameroon, I developed a particular interest in the Particle Physics which is a great field
related the Nuclear Physics. During my Master cycle, I have received many good courses on all the
basics of this field, which has increased my motivation to pursue my research with the great expert
in the world later.

I now wish to continue my academic career with a PhD in Particle Physics, and I cannot
imagine a better place to study than at the The PHENIICS - Particules, Hadrons, Énergie et
Noyau : Instrumentation, Imagerie, Cosmos et Simulation. With the center, I will integrate and
learn advantage many things about all the aspects about the Particle Physics and Astrophysics and
I will have the great opportunity advantage with the great experts of the field.

I am confident that I can complete this research project because I already have a good
experience in Particle physics through my research work that I am doing at Thomas Jefferson
National Accelerator Facility, Jefferson Lab from 11 November 2016 in HALL D in the project #
Measuring the Charged Pion Polarizability in the γγ → π + π − Reaction # which is proposal to
the 40th Jefferson Lab Program Advisory Committee. I have a good basics competences in C++,
python, Geant4, Root, Gluex… I am described as hardworking, time conscious and academically
honest. I have a strong sense of purpose, good communication skills and very sharp. I am socially
dynamic and interactive. In addition, I adhere strongly to professional ethics and I am very
willing to deepen and strengthen my potentials. Besides, I am committed to my study and my
dedication and high standard in completing. I believes that these skills and experience will allow
me to complete a larger-scale project like a Ph.D. effectively.

After completing the Ph. D, I plan to pursue a postdoc placement within the field in to bring
also my contribution. I am keen to continue my education in this subject and to perform my
own research, which can contribute to the knowledge of the field.
Many thanks for your consideration.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

To whom it may concern.

I the undersigned, Prof NDJAKA Jean-Marie, Head of the Department of Physics of
the Faculty of Science of the University of Yaounde I,
Here by, very strongly recommend Mr. EBODE ONYIE Fabien’s application to the
Ph.D opportunity in particle physics at the PHENIICS - Particules, Hadrons, Énergie et
Noyau : Instrumentation, Imagerie, Cosmos et Simulation.
Indeed, I know the applicant since the past eight years. He has been a good
student of our Department from first level up of the Bachelor. During this period, he
demonstrated his penchant for research. I would describe him as hardworking, time
conscious and academically honest. He has a strong sense of purpose, good
communication skills and very sharp. Mr Ebode is socially dynamic and interactive.
Also, he adheres strongly to professional ethics and he is very willing to deepen and
strengthen his potentials. Besides, he is committed to his study and his dedication and
high standard in completing whatever is required of him to succeed, was very
remarkable. His skills and hard work help him to be integrated as usergraduate at the
Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Jefferson Lab at USA, in the field of
Particles physics in a great Project with some scientists of this field, from 11 November
2016. More importantly, this candidate has significant theoretical knowledge in Physics,
as well as Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics, that will indisputably serve as plus in his
further studies.
Overall, Mr Ebode’s enthusiasm, his remarkable ability to learn and to adapt to
any social middle, his generosity, high standards and dedication will make him an
excellent student in Physics program. He is at an important stage in his studies and I am
persuaded that this position will allow him to achieve the very high standards he is
aiming for. In the long run, I trust that Mr Ebode will become a successful candidate.
From all above, I very strongly recommend Mr EBODE ONYIE Fabien
application to the Ph.D opportunity in Particle Physics.
Yours sincerely,
