“Sa mga mata ni Ekang”

A Kara David’s Documentary

Poverty has been a significant problem for many families, particularly the poor
minority. As a result, it has led to different components that cause people affected to engage
in harmful activities. As per the documentary, poverty is the driving cause behind Ekang's
family's women becoming prostitutes and "bugaw." The sex industry has been integrated
with the form of prostitution. It allows the execution of any number of sexual activities as
long as money is available. Prostitution reflects societal, economic inequity. Another issue is
drug addiction in their family. Those who reside in areas with higher poverty rates are more
likely to become involved in drug dealing than those in more affluent areas. As a result,
financial instability has a negative influence, particularly on younger family members.
Given that the Philippines is one of many developing countries, its citizens must have
a broad option. We must form organizations, fight corruption, and ensure that everyone has
access to education. A good education provides information to young people, allowing them
to make life decisions that will benefit them in the future. Poverty exposes children to several
risk factors, ranging from health concerns to more significant educational challenges. In the
case of Ekang, we will have no idea what direction he would choose in the future. Her
mother expresses her desire to change their way of life in the film. If we provide the primary
resources to parents and disadvantaged families in need, their children will have a better
chance of breaking out from this cycle. Children from low-income families are affected by
their parents' financial difficulties. Sad to say, children from low-income families are more
likely to grow up in poor communities.
Academic difficulties, behavioral and social issues, and declining health are all
common in these types of neighborhoods with concentrated poverty levels. These people are
more likely to live in areas where environmental risk factors are present. Malnourishment,
pollution, food insecurity, poor housing, violence, and crime illustrate socioeconomic risk
factors. To summarize, I believe that poverty may be relieved if not only members of society,
but also members of the governments that rule these countries, which are home to many
people in need to help and contribute.
A child or any person should not go without the necessities of existence. Every person
should have a place to sleep in access to clean water and clothing. I've learned how poverty
teaches you how to make do with what you have. You know to accept life's harsh realities
and find joy in the small things. Small steps lead to significant steps, and with these big
steps, each of us can help others who are less fortunate than we discover the greater good in
life. I believe that we can put poverty behind us once and for all. Let us offer others the life
they deserve and put an end to this destructive issue called poverty.
