READ ME Math Scheme of Work v7

This document provides instructions for printing and assembling the Qatar scheme of work for mathematics from Grades 1 to 12. It explains that the files are organized by grade level and subject into folders, which should each be assembled into ring binders. The folders contain introductions, flowcharts, and units for each grade level. Printing should be double-sided and holes punched along the long edge so pages are readable like a calendar when assembled in binders.

READ ME: Qatar scheme of work for mathematics

The purpose of this document is to tell you how to print out and collate the electronic files for the
mathematics scheme of work from Grade 1 to Grade 12 advanced.

Opening the files

To open the scheme of work files, you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer.
You can download this software free from: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
A copy of Adobe Reader is also included on the CD for the Qatar scheme of work for mathematics
by permission of Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Filenames
Filenames are self-explanatory. The folder (or zip file) called IntroG1to3 contains all the files that go
together to form the introduction for Grades 1 to 3. Page numbers are included in the filenames.
The folder (or zip file) called Grade_01 contains the files for the Grade 1 title page and flowchart,
and all the units in Grade 1; the folder (or zip file) Grade_02 contains the files for the Grade 2 title
page and flowchart, and all the units in Grade 2, and so on.

Printing and hole-punching

Back-to-back copying should be arranged so that the pages will turn over like a calendar (long-edge
binding). When the binder is open and laid flat on a table, it should be possible to read continuously
from the top of the far page to the bottom of the near page closer to the reader.
Holes for ring-binding should be punched on the long edge of each sheet. On odd-numbered pages
the holes will be at the top of the page; on even-numbered pages the holes will appear at the
bottom.

Assembly instructions
The scheme of work should be assembled in five ring-binder folders as follows:
Folder 1: Grades 1–3
Folder 2: Grades 4–6
Folder 3: Grades 7–9
Folder 4: Grades 10–12 foundation
Folder 5: Grades 10–12 advanced
Each folder begins at page 1 with an Introduction to the relevant grades. This includes flowcharts
outlining all the units for all grades. This helps to give an overview of the scheme of work in its
entirety.
For each set of units contained in the folder, there is a title page showing the grade and the titles of
the units. This page acts as a divider separating one set of units from the next. On the reverse side
of this page you will find the flowchart outlining the units for the grade. The dividers do not have
page numbers on them but count towards the total number of pages in the document.
