INTRODUCTION
The nature of agility not only involves speed but also includes the body’s ability to
make sudden changes of movement or direction (Hunsicker, 1974). Barrow and McGee (1979)
stated that the effectiveness of agility can be enhanced by a combination of aspects of strength,
muscular endurance, speed, kinaesthetic senses and coordination. Muscle strength and
endurance factors can increase speed, then indirectly those factors can affect the effectiveness
of agility. Good coordination factors can be related to the natural characteristics of a movement.
As a result, the coordination factor can further increase the effectiveness of the agility factor.
Other factors influencing agility include age, level of maturity, body size, body shape type,
nutrition and environment (Clarke, 1976).
In the sport of handball, agility is one of the most important components as it allows
the athlete to move and change body direction quickly. It can be seen when a handball athlete
performs a dribble change of direction in response to an unpredictable stimulus. Agility in
handball also plays an important role in terms of attacking the opponent as well as defending
the opponent. When agility skills are not done properly it can have such an effect can result in
injury. Usually, a handball team's agility training needs to be improved to ensure that the
athlete's performance improves. Therefore, agility is an important component in the sport of
handball.

OBJECTIVE
• Identify the definition of agility and the relationship between agility in handball
• Benefits that a handball players may gain from mastering agility drills.
• Capable to acknowledge the importance of agility drills in handball as well as
how to conduct it in an appropriate way
• Be able to identify the most effective agility drills and demonstrate it in the sport
of handball
2
METHOD
Attacking Agility Drills in Handball
1. Sprint Forward
2. Zig-Zag
3. Sideway
1. Sideway
Single-leg hop
Double-leg hop
3
• Doing it by balancing the body to prevent injury
1. Sprint
• Get ready in the middle cone to accelerate to the right cone and back to the middle cone
to create obstacles
• Next accelerate to the left cone to make an obstacle to the left cone and back to the
middle cone to make an obstacle
• Perform fast movement acceleration
• Ready in the middle cone sprint to the right cone and return with a state of retreat to the
middle cone and create an obstacle
• Then make a sprint to the left cone and return to the middle cone by reversing
• Perform fast movement acceleration
3. Sideway
• Get ready in the middle cone and start sideway to the right cone and back to the middle
cone with sideway style and make obstacles
• Next to do sideway to the left cone and back to the middle cone to make obstacles
• Perform fast movement acceleration
1. Sideway
4
• Bend your knees and move forward diagonally to the second cone
• While doing this exercise must be forward and while backward must be in a backward
state
• Do it quickly while raising both hands
3. Shuffle
1. Right knee up
• Ready position with both hands being lifted up (goalkeeper hand position)
• Move forward across the ladder with right leg being lifted high
• While performing the drill both hands remain still from the beginning
• Perform with high speed of movement
2. Left knee up
• Ready position with both hands being lifted up (goalkeeper hand position)
• Move forward across the ladder with left leg being lifted high
• While performing the drill both hands remain still from the beginning
• Perform with high speed of movement
3. Ickey shuffle
5
• Move backward with both feet in and out the ladder
• While performing the drill both hands remain still from the beginning
• Perform with high speed of movement

SWOT ANALYSIS
1. Strength
2. Weakness
• Short Duration of video recording which reduces the overall information gained
• Environmental factor and device deficiency which affects the features and recording
session of the video
• Lack of face to face interaction due to the pandemic Covid-19 that evolved in 2020 till
now.
3. Opportunities
4. Threat
• Injuries could have occurred during the recording session due to uneven surface
• Players are also exposed to the Covid-19 virus which can be anywhere at all times.

CONCLUSION
From the above content, our team has a clearer understanding of the theme of handball
agility, which further strengthens us to be familiar with the concept of handball. In handball,
agility training is as important as physical fitness, strength, and endurance training. In handball
agility training, we must start from both technical and conceptual aspects. We learn different
ways of functional defence and offense agility training. We pass more Group communication,
discover, analyse, and solve problems together in the interaction. Through discussion, address
the respective problems of handball and integrate them into actual training. As handball is no
handball development, handball must follow the law of modern handball development. In
today's world, a proactive form of defence has emerged, namely aggressive defence. We must
keep pace with the times, strengthen the discussion and research of the concept and theory of
offensive defence, concentrate on improving the quality of defence, and put the ability to
promote offensive defence in the most important position. To adapt to the development trend
of handball in the modern world, this will be an important condition for winning the
championship.
