Course Title:
Life and Works of Rizal
Course Description:
Guided by the vision and Mission of the school, the course deals with Rizal's
philosophy, ideals of freedom and nationalism for which our hero lived and died.
It likewise deals with the influence of Rizal towards 1896 revolution and the
different perceptions that people have upon the national hero. The course aims
at promoting critical view at the social order in which he lived, through an
analysis of his works and letters, his opinions and liberalism, government,
religion, education, as well as the philosophy of living and the relevance of these
ideas to the Contemporary Philippine Society. The students, future teachers, and
servant of the global community will benefit from this course particularly on
matters pertaining to equality, justice, freedom, sincerity, leadership, and building
of collective consciousness that precede the establishment of commitment,
excellence, and sense of community.

Activity:

Activity:
1. Discuss how Rizal's prize on winning a lotto plays a big help to the people
Answer: Rizal won a lotto with the amount of 6,200(P20,000) in a Spanish lottery.
Because Rizal is addict on lotto playing while he was on Madrid Spain studying in
Unibersidad Central de Madrid. It was really big help to the people because it gives
more opportunity to them to have work. He buy a land in Talisay around 70 hectares for
agriculture and where he constructed his nipa house. Rizal spent for humanitarian
activities and service for the benefit of the townsmen such as building his first school
and clinic.
2. What if you were given the chance to defend Rizal against those people, what
will be your words for them to believe that Rizal is not guilty about all the
accuses?
Answer: If I were given a chance to defend Rizal against those people. My words for
them to plead our hero not guilty is he’s telling the truth that Rizal needs to open our
eyes for what is happening racism being slave is not a joke. We need to fight. Unity is
the answer. Rizal wants us to awake in reality we need freedom. Together we achieve
the word free. And that is Rizal want us to do.
