Reading - Lesson Plan - Non Fiction - Stop and Jot

This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching students how to use reading strategies to comprehend nonfiction texts. The teacher will model using the "stop and jot" reading strategy by reading aloud from a book and noting reactions, questions, and feelings about the text. Students will then practice this strategy by reading passages from the book and jotting down their own thoughts. Finally, students will independently read their chosen nonfiction books using stop and jot to help them understand what they are reading.
