Standard SAP uses MRP type X0 for external planning. X0 behaves like ND in terms of MRP in
R/3. We have created a new MRP type X1 that allows planning in MRP and APO at the same
time. X0 and X1 are both planned in external system, but MRP can run for X1 materials.

2.4.1. Enable PPM Creation Enhancement - Maintain Table YPPM_CREATE
Maintain the required plants and the planning group for which the enhancement should apply for
creation of PP/DS PPM in table 'YPPM_CREATE' (Transaction code YPPM_CREATE). If SNP
PPM is required for the planning group, check the indicator 'Create SNP'.
Once the Setup Groups, Keys and Matrices are defined in APO. They need to be CIFfed to APO.
A special enhancement will take care of this transfer.
The check box selected will determine what master data is ciffed to R/3.

d) Screen Definition
We need to copy screen SAPLMGD1 2480 and make the following changes/additions:
The new screen/program will be configured to replace subscreen 5 of screen 26 for screen
sequence 21.
A new screen will be added for the detail behind the subscreen like for MRP areas.
Right now with standard R/3, this screen is only shown if MRP areas are activated.
The copied program should retain the old logic but have the following additional check.
IF T438A-DISVF = ‘X’ where MARC-DISMM = T438A-DISMM
New subscreen should look as follows:
22/40
Screen behind subscreen button. Consists of 4 subscreens. Subscreen 1 will be SAPLMGD1
screen 1001. These 4 subscreens will be added to the new screen via transaction OMT3B

4. PPDS - APO
4.1. One Time Global Config - APO
4.1.1. Maintain Heuristics
Maintain only if required. APO-PP/DS Expertise required.
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Heuristics) -> Maintain Heuristics
24/40
4.1.2. Maintain Heuristic Profiles
Maintain only if required. APO-PP/DS Expertise required.
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Heuristics) -> Maintain Heuristics Profiles
We have created a new Heuristics Profile for CCNA enabling the new custom heuristics
designed for CCNA: YAP002
The Planning Board Profile used in CCNA is YDS003, that enables color assignment to process
orders and CCNA specific objects.
Attention. This configuration is 80% of all PPDS configuration. Please refer to appendix for this
information.
4.1.4. Define Functions for the Toolbar in the Detailed Scheduling Planning
Board.
Maintain only if required. APO-PP/DS Expertise required.
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
25/40
Planning Board Profile -> Define Functions for the Toolbar in the Detailed Scheduling Planning
Board.
In CCNA we have maintained attributes for the material master. This attributes will be populated
via the CIF enhancement. Please refer to CIF enhancement for more details.
PPDS only uses the Product Color attribute, being CIFFED from the materials master
classification.
26/40
4.2. Manual Config - APO
4.2.1. Order Split at midnight option used by Merge/Smerge
Path: STVARV
Enter/Select Selection Option YSMERGE_DAY_CHNG_LOC
Maintain the required plants that will smerge during day-break at 12am for the selection-option
'YSMERGE_DAY_CHNG_LOC' in table TVARV (Transaction code STVARV)
27/40
4.3.3. Maintain Strategy Profiles
Maintain only if required.
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
Maintain Strategy Profiles
28/40
4.3.4. Maintain Time Profile
Maintain only if required.
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
Maintain Time Profiles
We have created 3 new Time profiles. More could be required depending on the Plant specific
conditions.
29/40
4.3.5. Maintain Work Areas
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
Maintain Work Areas.
Work Areas configuration is plant specific. This functionality is used to group work centers and
materials to be displayed in the PPDS board.
The work area naming convention will be YXXXX_YYYYY, where XXXX is the plant number
and YYYYY is a free text.
30/40
4.3.6. Maintain Optimization Profile
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
Maintain Optimization Profiles.
The optimization profile is plant specific and it needs to be configured depending on the plant
optimization needs. Optimization is driven by master data : Resources, PPMs.
The optimization profile name will be YOPXXXX where XXXX is the plant number.
Example for Dunedin:
31/40
32/40
33/40
34/40
4.3.7. Maintain Overall Profile
Path: SPRO -> Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production
Planning and Scheduling (PPDS) -> Production Planning and Scheduling (Called Directly) ->
Maintain Overall Profiles.
The overall profile is a combination of all the Planning Board profiles. This configuration is
plant specific.
35/40
4.4. Master Data - APO
4.4.1. Material Master Profiles
Materials master profiles must be maintained for each solucion.
Path: /SAPAPO/MAT1
Follow the same naming convention than Dunedin profiles. Profiles will be assigned to the
material master, MRP1 APO view in R/3.
Path: /SAPAPO/CDPSC6
Path: /SAPAPO/CDPSC7
36/40
4.4.4. Resources Capacities
Resources Capacities are maintained in APO. This includes the maitenance of:
Shift Definitions
Shift Sequences
Capacity Variants
Path: /SAPAPO/RES01
Prerequisities: R/3 Resources Master Data (Handling Resource), CIF Location Activated, CIF
Resources Activated.
37/40
2.4.6. Maintain Merge / Smerge Tables
To enable the CCNA heuristics (Merge/Smerge, Fill Reconciliation, CIP Orders), the user needs
to configure the following tables.
Path: YCFGORC
Tables:
1) Filler Resources – Define what resources are fillers and Merge/Smerge parameters
2) CIP / Downtime resources - Define Planners for CIP orders (Not used so far)
38/40
4) Replicate Resource Downtimes.- If a downtime is created for a resource, this will be copied to
the other resource that is related in this table.
