GROUP PROJECT

COURSE: PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF MARKETING (RES452)


SEMESTER: SEPTEMBER 2019

INSTRUCTION

“As a new property developer company, your team is required to present a strategy and
plan for a launching of commercial (2A)/residential (2B) strata project and prepare an
entrepreneurship report. Your report and presentation should include 4Ps elements.”

This is a collaborative learning. Students are required to share all information between groups to
produce ONE report for each class. You have to break down this project into several tasks and
divide your class into groups (not more than 5 students in a group).

1. Report:

1.1 The report should consist of (but not limited to) the following:

• Cover page
• Table of content
• Company description: name of company, mission, vision, types of products/services,
location etc.
• Market segmentation and targeting
• 4Ps of marketing mix
• Future plan and conclusion
• Other relevant information

1.2 Requirement:

• Only ONE report will be produced (but have to clearly state the name of group members
for each task)
• Not more than 50 pages
• Submit during the presentation (Week 14)

1.3 Assessment Criteria:

Report will be assessed based on group task by referring to the following criteria:

• Format and layout: Presentation of the text, structuring of text, professional report layout
– 10%
• Organization: Well-organized with a strong beginning, middle and ending – 10%
• Content and information: The information is technically sound, coherence of information
– 20%
• References and sources: Reliable and accurate sources – 10%

TOTAL: 50 marks (20% of coursework marks)

2. Presentation:

2.1 Requirement:

Group presentation will be conducted on Week 14. Each group will be expected to deliver a
polished and concise overview of the topic in the allotted 20-minute time frame with a further 10
minutes of Q&A session.

2.2 Assessment Criteria:

Student will be assessed INDIVIDUALLY based on the following criteria:

• Content: Appropriate facts and relevant details to support main idea – 10%
• Delivery: Relaxed, self-confidence, natural body movement, speak clearly – 15%
• Presentation aids: Uses well-produced audio/visual aids or media; creative, interesting
and meaningful – 15%
• Time management: Finishes within the prescribed time with appropriate pacing – 5%
• Others: Two-way communication, attire – 5%

TOTAL: 50 marks (10% of coursework marks)
