Cavite State University: Daily Instruction Plan in Math 8

1. The document provides a daily instruction plan for an 8th grade math class that covers quadratic functions. 2. It defines quadratic functions and the vertex form, and provides steps to transform between the general form (y=ax2 + bx + c) and standard/vertex form (y=a(x-h)2 + k). 3. Examples are given to demonstrate how to identify quadratic functions, write them in vertex form, and transform between the two forms. Students are assigned practice problems to transform quadratic functions between the forms.

quadratic function or not.
1. y= x2-2x+1
2. y= x+12
3. y= x2+4x+4
4. y= x2+6x+9
5. y= x2-2x3+x

Analysis
1. How did you identify which of the following are quadratic
function?
2.What can you observe on the quadratic function above?

Where a, b, and c are known
real numbers, and a ≠ 0.
Steps:
1. Group the terms containing x
