Important note:
Installation location:
As per 2009. The NedGraphics libraries (DLL’s) are not shared between NedGraphics
products anymore.
Also, every major version is now installed in a new folder. This means that installing
Jacquard 2009 does not remove Jacquard 2008 so that both versions can be used if necessary.
Installation kits changes:
As per 2009, the Weaving conversion kit and the Virtual Loom kit have been integrated into
the Jacquard kit. So for those programs, please just install the Jacquard kit.

To use NedGraphics Jacquard 2009 you need the following install kits. When installation of a
kit is optional, this is indicated, with an indication of its added value:

Known issues:

• The fabric editor is known to be very slow in starting the staubli conversion on a 64
bit system. So we advice to use a 32 bit system if you intend to make machine
conversion with the Fabric editor.

New Features
This section describes the new features introduced in NedGraphics Jacquard 2009
Product Creator: On/Off commands
On/Off that have been defined in the Texcelle weft scales are now automatically activated in
Product Creator.
Product Creator: Possibility to change the polarity of the

weaves in one step
In the Weaves view we have added a button to change the polarity of all weaves

We now have a section that shows the amount of Regulator used in the article
Product Creator: Fixed directories

It is now possible to manually set the default folder where the file open dialogs will point by
default.
You can review the folders that are set in the tools/options dialog. From there it is also
possible to activate or deactivate the feature.

Loom Editor: Printout of loom definition

We now have a summary of the loom hooks definitions in the printout of the loom editor.
Also, in the loom editor, it is now possible to read / write Sophis Tie-up files.

• Problem install kit, DOT Net assemblies where sometimes not installed.

It was tested with the following settings.

• Added: Compatible with new Texcelle template launch
• BugFix: Import into DesignCom stability.

the resulting basic weave.

• BugFix in pcreator: It was not possible to see the simulation in Red and White in the
global weave window
• BugFix in pcreator: crash when re-opening designs, when some regulator were
present on the annex scale at a position where the weft scale is empty
• BugFix in install kit: In some cases the simulation was not working due to a missing
file DefaultTSJacquardWeave.bmp

• Added in Pcreator: CGS conversion for older types of Paper Punchers. See the CGS
file format parameters.
• BugFix in Pcreator: With some (new-) graphics card drivers, simulation results were
not visible on the screen. Only after “Print to file”. That has been fixed now.
• BugFix in Pcreator / Virtual Loom: On Windows Vista, trying to load a YTX file in
the yarn dialog was generating an error.
• BugFix in Pcreator: Viable weave were not read properly
• Changed in Card Batch converter, converting from PDC files is now much faster.

• Pcreator: Fix Error 3700 related issues

• Pcreator: Regulator statistics not always reflecting the regulator settings..
• Pcreator: In the non US versions, folders presets where not set when pressing Default
in the file open/save dialogs.
• The utility cardstat.exe would not run

• Pcreator: Error message when changing colours in the yarn dialog and the
“information” view was active.
• Zooming in/out in the card view was sometimes hanging the software

• Pcreator: Add ability to view the card from the back in the card design view.
• Loom Editor: Import Sophis Tieups was not working anymore
• Loom Editor: Add ability to import Viable Loom definitions (.C00)

• Pcreator: Error opening special PDC where some weaves didn’t have the same
number of warp/weft as the product.
• Error message when starting NGStaubli.exe

• All components built with Visual Studio 2008 SP1, to avoid compatibility problems
• Pcreator: When loading a design, the initial activation of the on/off hooks in the
product properties was wrong if non continuous annex groups were defined on the
loom definition.

• Pcreator: Layer selection and visualization was sometimes impossible when a lot of
layer were present.
• Pcreator: Global Weave view could not be displayed due to missing file in installation
kit.

• Pcreator: Some strings were not translated
• Bug fix in Simulation, was not working with some machines with a low end graphic
card
• A copy of JacquardSimSettings.ini is now made when installing the new version

• Pcreator: True Coloring was not automatically started when saving a simulation to the
hard disk.

• The Paper Format view in the Card view was crashing

• Pcreator: Opening some products were causing the program to quit immediately

• Merge some recent updates made in Jacquard 2008

• Loom Editor: Bug fix in Add/Remove hooks. The limits were not calculated properly
• Compatibility with DesignCom 6.2. After loading a product from DesignCom, it was
not possible to generate production files anymore.
• When working from product creator, Changes in the DesignCom title were not saved.
• Fix various installation kit issues.

• Add Virtual Loom to Jacquard install kit
• Add Ability to Add/Remove hooks in Loom Editor. Function accessible via the right
click menu.

• Display designs with variable density correctly in DesignView
• Improvements regarding anti-moiré measures have been added to the simulation
engine.
They can be controlled and are described at the end of the attached
JacquardSimSettings.ini file, which is the newly recommended ini file.
• LoomEditor, Jacquard height now default to 16 when importing Sophis Tieup files.

• Solve Random Keylock error

• Display error when trying to save product with table weaves of a different size than
the product

• Fixed: TrueColoring: When re-coloring with yarns, the yarn-letter of the (tuft-) yarn
disappeared.
• Fixed: TrueColoring: When re-coloring with yarns, the previous colorway changes
made without re-coloring with yarns were lost.
• Fixed: TrueColoring: If you had proofing enabled and printed the product. After that,
if you pan or zoom, the colors became wrong. Save & reload of the product was
required to get proper colors back.
• Fixed:
TrueColoring: In some cases, the hourglass didn't disappear unless the mouse was mo
ved.
• Fixed: TrueColoring: If the yarn has no name, it will stay that way (instead of getting
the default name: "Name undefined,”
• Fixed: TrueColoring: If you load a .pat or .des file, the segmentation is preserved
now.
• Change: Jacquard: Slightly increased size of edit fields for density figures for
Jacquard. This should prevent misinterpreting these fields when densities are high.

• New: Simulation settings dialog now initialized to repeat 1x1 when loading a new
product.
• Fixed: Simulation settings Output / Input sizes are now working better in relation with
the Card area selection.
• Fixed: Occasional weave errors in simulation.
• Fixed: Black window in the Global weave view simulation

• Fixed: True coloring, colour management, gamut warning, proofing problems are
fixed
• New: New YTX files colorsX.ytx have been added to be used with true colours yarn
bitmaps.
The numbers indicates the number of plies of the true colour bitmap.
• Fixed: Missing weft yarn letters of “Sample Review” fixed
• Fixed: If you select the text of a colorway in TrueColoring, and you press escape, then
the colorways disappears.
• Change: Error dialog for too large simulation has been made more understandable.

• Change term “One Layer card” to “Sample Preview”
• Improve Weave Editor startup time
• Yarn dialog, yarn preview was not always updated when setting default values

• New yarn samples.
New yarns are provided; their name starts with 2008_.
These yarns have been specially created to take full advantage of the 3D simulation
engine.

After loading such a yarn, normally only yarn size, color and twist factor need to be
filled in.
• True coloring:
The color-distribution within of the recolor-results was often not good
• Keylock issues

This release is to insure compatibility with the other release kits such as Texcelle.
Also the following new feature were added
• Optionally allow to have a design that does not fit on the loom
To activate this option you need to set the following registry setting
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NedGraphics\pcreator\Options]

New Features Product Creator
• The results of a simulation (i.e. dsim files) can be saved in DesignCOM.

• Yarns can be loaded from and saved in DesignCOM.
• There are no longer differences between the colors of the simulation view in Product
Creator and the colors of the simulation when viewed with True Coloring.
• The colors of the yarns in the preview of Yarn Editor are now correct. This implies
that it is no longer necessary to reduce the shade settings to very low values, in order
to have proper colors in the preview.
• The Jacquard kit includes now a number of multi segment yarn photo files that can be
selected as “True Color Bitmaps” in the Yarn Editor.
• Call 12046 : A new face back option has been introduced. In previous versions one
could generate the complete card as a face back card, resulting in a card having the
ends mirrored. The new options results also in a face back card, but having the picks
mirrored.
• In previous version, there was only one way to modify the function values of a
function (e.g. the specific densities for each density code). This had to be done in the
loom setup with the Loom Editor. From this version on, the function values can be
modified with the Product Creator too. This can be done on the Functions tab of the
Properties.
• The Weft Projection page (from the Properties dialog) is now available for all types of
products. In previous versions this was only available for products based on
warp/weft designs.
• The Weft Projection now supports selector sequences and multiple selectors.
• Call 11268 : It is now possible to attach the selvedge codes used in the design to
selvedge codes attached to selvedge weaves of the loom setup.
• The weave attributes “Folder” and “Size” have been introduced in Jacquard 9.0. In
this version they are also available for Global Weaves and for Special Weaves.
• The Lancé tab, and the corresponding lancé handling, has been removed from the
Properties dialog. At this moment there is no equivalent feature available.

• Ghost pick: Code 0 in the weft yarn scales in Texcelle is now handled properly by
Jacquard. All hooks down will be generated in the selectors
New Features True Coloring
• Dsim files can be saved in and loaded from DesignCOM.

• After recoloring a simulation, there is no longer a loss of contrast, when the initial
colors were very light, dark or saturated.
• After recoloring a simulation, we have proper shades and shininess, independent of
the initial colors.

Solved Problems Product Creator
• Call 16364 – 15984 : floats of a previous float scan were not correctly cleared when a
new scan was done (e.g. scanning a card for weft floats only, after having scanned the
card for warp floats only, displayed both the warp and weft floats instead of only the
weft floats).
• Call 15430 : Correcting floats form the border sometimes resulted in a crash when the
“Float checking on repeat borders” was active.
• Call 12036 : There are no longer restrictions when drawing on a complete card (and
hence drawing on unused hooks is possible). Note also that drawing on the design
hooks in the complete card no longer results in corrections on the design card. This
makes it possible, if e.g. the design part is repeated a number of times in the complete
card, to modify only one of the repeats in the complete card. This solves also
numerous problems when corrections on the complete card were done for products
having nontrivial layout options (to be initialized on the Layout tab of the Properties)
or when the face back option was active.
• Call 10439 – 10121 : A confirmation message is now displayed before clearing the
corrections.
• When the complete card was displayed, the warp bar in the card view was not correct
when nontrivial layout options were used (to be initialized on the Layout tab of the
Properties) or when the face back option was active.
• Sometimes the weaves were clipped on the bottom of a page of the technical report
(i.e. when the option to print each individual weave was selected). Now they are
correctly moved to the next page of the technical report.
• Face Back Flip Weft option was always reset after saving or loading a product
