ROLES OF ASSESSMENT

ACTIVITY 1: ASSESSMENT SCENARIO

1. Assessment as selection or placement. In the situation, assessment is critical in identifying the
students suitable placement both in terms of accomplishment and skills
2. Assessment as program evaluation or accountability. every year they conducted a nationwide
evaluation to determine what the students had learned and weather they qualified to advanced to
the following level. For evaluation reasons, individual assessment data might be combined and
evaluated as a whole
3. Assessment as instruction and providing feedback. Teachers provide comments on students to
edit and enhance their work while also broadening their understanding. students gain
understanding on how to improve their learning by intersecting with feedback
4. Assessment as diagnosing learners difficulties and misconceptions. it could be done for
diagnostic purposes in this case. In this situation, the math teacher administers a test to detect the
gaps in learning or learning processes with the goal of bridging the gap and identifying any
misunderstandings or prejudices they may have
5. Assessment as determining progress along a developmental continuum. the English instructor
uses the developmental continuum to assess the pupils progress in terms of skill development
and what they know and can do. English teachers can use this information to create a program,
that will help youngsters continue to grow and learn
