Cooking Up Fractions Example

This document describes a math task that requires students to take a recipe containing fractions and modify the ingredient amounts to serve different numbers of people. Students must find a recipe with at least two fractions, copy the original recipe, then rewrite it to serve double and half the original number of servings. They will create a recipe booklet as a PowerPoint presenting the original, doubled, and halved recipes. An example is given showing a banana smoothie recipe modified to serve different amounts.
