Tissue from a 12-year-old Bonsmara cow with a history of chronic


weight loss and not doing well. Loose stool was around her anus and
on her tail.

Case 2

Tissue from an adult mixed breed bull with a slow-growing firm


mandibular mass causing facial swelling, distortion, and loose teeth.

➔ Identify the tissue(s) and describe what you see and feel.
➔ What is the pathologic process?
➔ Provide a diagnosis.
➔ Name the disease.
Case 3
Tissue from a dog with a history of epilepsy and chronic phenobarbital
treatment.

➔ Identify the tissue(s) and describe what you see and feel.
➔ What is the pathologic process?

➔ Provide a diagnosis.
➔ Provide two (2) possible sequelae.
Case 4 - Horse with verminous mesenteric arteritis

Tissue from an adult mixed breed gelding with fever and decreased
borborygmus. On necropsy, a segment of infarcted intestine and a
severely thickened and distorted cranial mesenteric artery were
identified.

➔ Identify the tissue(s) and describe what you see and feel.
➔ What are the pathologic processes?
➔ Provide an etiologic diagnosis.
➔ Why did this animal have an intestinal infarct?
