1. Please elaborate/explain what have you learned from the previous class. (500 words)
Before start class, lecturer ask everyone why we want to be physical educator. What I have
learned from the previous class is about how to be a great physical educator and kind of quality
attributes or traits that a great physical educator must possess or manifest. Firstly, I learned about
physical educator paradigms have two which is behaviourism approach and cognitive-behavior
motivation approach. For behaviourism approach, this approach to learning is based on the idea that
learners respond to stimuli in their environment. Meanwhile in cognitive-behavior motivation
approach is students are more likely to experience intrinsic motivation to learn when they feel a
sense of belonging and respect in the classroom. After that, I have learned about mosston's teaching
spectrum. Mosston's teaching spectrum is a framework of options in the relationships between
teacher and learner. That incorporates ten landmark teaching styles along a continuum based on the
degree to which the teacher or pupil assumes responsibility for what is taking place in the lesson. It
is well accepted that teaching styles have an important contribution to make to children’s learning in
physical education and that different styles affect different aspects of the teaching process, such as
lesson “climate” and the teacher’s ability to meet individual needs. Mosston's teaching spectrum is
about teaching is governed by a single unifying process a chain of decision. Premises of the Spectrum
is the axiom, the anatomy of any style, the decision makers, the spectrum, the cluster and the
development effects. The axiom is the entire structure of the Spectrum stems from the initial
premise that teaching behavior is a chain of decision making. Every deliberate act of teaching is a
result of a previous decision. The Anatomy of Any Style is the anatomy is composed of the
conceivable categories of decisions that must be made (deliberately or by default) in any teaching–
learning transaction. The Decision Makers is both teacher and learner can make decisions in any of
the decision categories delineated in the anatomy. When most or all of the decisions in a category
are the responsibility of one decision maker. The Spectrum is by establishing who makes which
decisions, about what and when, it is possible to identify the structure of eleven landmark teaching–
learning approaches as well as alternative approaches that lie between them on the Spectrum. The
Clusters is two basic human capacities are reflected within the structure of the Spectrum. The
capacity for reproduction and the capacity for production. The Developmental Effects is perhaps the
ultimate question in education and teaching is what really happens to people when they participate
in one kind of an experience or another? The questions why and what for are paramount in
education. The structure of the decisions in each landmark style affects the developing learner in
unique ways by creating conditions for diverse experiences. Each set of decisions in the landmark
styles emphasizes distinct objectives that learners can develop. Objectives, aside from the content
expectations, are always related to human attributes along the cognitive, social, physical, emotion,
and ethical Developmental Channels.

2. Please elaborate/explain what do you understand based on these questions? (500 words)
In my opinion, Great Physical Educator is mean like being a role model, having professional
skills, and creating a fun environment with students. A great physical educator also is an educator
who have planning on what they want to teach their student and also have well preparation before
teaching their student. Moreover, a great physical educator also is a person who know to use the
right and simple way to deliver the lesson to their student depends on their student level. For an
example, some student can understand what the teacher teach them for only once, but some
student need to be teach more than once. Besides, a great physical educator also needs to be able
to educate. Being able to distill complex ideas into easily followed steps helps your students feel
better about physical activity. Being able to teach also includes being able to recognize which
students need more encouragement or a different way of explaining, and assessing learning. Other
than that, a great physical educator is a person who can make their student realise how important is
physical education and not studying physical education to be an world class athlete but to make
them live a better life with the correct way while making physical activities as their lifestyle. A great
physical educator can give a big impact to a student.
Next, there is some kind of attributes that a ‘great physical educator’ needs to possess. The
first one is communication skills. Being able to communicate effectively is another important skill.
Clear communications to your students helps them learn your lessons and keeps them safe.
Communicating with parents and other professionals respectfully shows how you treat your
students in your program. Effective communication builds a sense of community where students feel
confident in their abilities. With greater confidence and support, students are more likely
to embrace physical activity as a source of fun. Second is interpersonal skills. Working with students,
parents, and other teachers requires a range of interpersonal skills. Being a teacher means being a
leader and role model to your students. A physical educator is a model of values such as leadership,
teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Treating the people around you with respect makes them more
likely to respect you and your program. Other than that, a great physical educator need focus on the
students. As an educator, you need to make sure your students are learning. Being an educator
means you need to have a passion for helping children learn skills they can use in their daily lives
outside of the classroom. Working with children can be taxing, so keeping that passion going helps
you make your classes instructional and fun. You also need to keep your students safe and secure
during class, since they’ re moving around and in large areas with different equipment. Finally, kind
for great physical educator need to possess is creativity. Being able to adapt and find new activities
keeps your classes entertaining and fun for everybody. You can find inspiration for your classes in
television, music, and other classes. You can take ideas from all around you to make engaging and
fun activities for students of all physical abilities. Having a variety of activities and outcomes keeps
students engaged and interested in your classes.
