Course description:
Through a studio project, strategies and scenarios for on-site relocation and nearby-relocation of a target
population in an urban upgrading project will be studied. Similarly, strategies and scenarios for the
housing of relocated inhabitants in an inner-city urban renewal project will be explored. The studio will be
based on an existing inner city settlement. Key issues of housing such as: affordability, tenure, housing
actors and financing mechanism will be taken into consideration.

Course Objectives:
The objective of the course is to understand the relationship between housing and inner city
redevelopment through a practical studio work.
