Activity-7
Think of a teacher that’s most unforgettable to you in elementary or high school.
Are there things that when you encounter at present (see, hear, touch, smell) make you
“go back to the past” and recall this teacher? What are these things?
Way back during my high school days, I have a teacher that always reminds me
how cruel she is. Every time that there are same scenarios happened in the classroom, all
the memories years ago have been flashed back. All the pains, tears, effort that I’ve
invested are just like that all are wasted, small mistakes is a big deal for her. I do not
know if she is a kind of teacher who is perfectionist but at the point that all of us are
feeling embarrassed at the whole class is not a good thing anymore because she made
violent scenarios and words that’s not appropriate. But despite those things happened
there is also a lesson that we should lessen to make some burden that will lead to her
anger. Also, there is some instance that happened we surely made some mistakes with my
classmates that leads to her anger and made some conditions that she surely teach us a
lesson. Every teacher has their own teaching styles that every class will surely remember
her she might be that cruel but after those scenarios in every discussion she will be the
best in teaching mathematics that you will surely understand better in her own teaching
styles. Math will be the hardest subject but when she was the one who teach every lesson
is just like wow it’s not that hard as we think.
Many teachers I had in my mind who in fact help me for who I am today in
positive way truly is there was so many in my mind but this teacher who always I
remember because she might be cruel for her students but she never get affected when
she is going to hold our class, she was that so passionate with her profession and willing
to help and learn more with her students.
What kinds of rewards and punishment did she/he apply in you class? For what student
behavior were the rewards and punishments for?

1. In your own words and in not more than 5 sentences each, explain:
a) Tolman’s purposive behaviorism
Tolman’s behaviorism learning is always purposive and goal-oriented, this theory
emphasized that to achieve ones goal we always take the easiest or the shortest way. In life, in
learning new things we discover different things, it creates beliefs, perspective and obtaining
knowledge about what we sees in the environment and that knowledge will expose and
manifest through a confident, positive and goal-directed behavior. When teaching, you as a
mentor you should set your goals for your students to achieve ones efficient and new leanings
that they will use and manage all throughout their lives and inspire to achieve their desired
goals in the future. Learning is influenced by perception, expectations, representation, needs
and other internal variables. As a mentor, observe your class on where to give reward and
punishment, when to create or replace, give and consider setting ones learning to obtain specific
goal.
b) Bandura’s social learning theory
Bandura’s social learning theory is can be usually found in an area where in
people can learn from each other. A one person can be set as an example to be a model
that you can for see his/her good actions that may inspire you all throughout. This theory
may reinforce different impact, in a classroom, teacher must be the great example that
his/her class will look for his/her kindness, for showing good performance and by that the
student will admire them and they will do the same things for their selves in the future
also it can be a their classmates who is good at the class and the other will inspire and do
the same thing. This theory may hit you differently, it can be positively and negatively,
the learners must be aware with different response. Behavior can influence both the
environment and the person in fact each of these the person, the behavior, and the
environment can have an influence on each other.
