LEARNING TASK (WEEK 10)

ONLINE/BLENDED: REFLECTION ON THE GOOD LIFE (30 points)

Everyone is in pursuit of the good life. We do certain things because we want to achieve a life which will
make us happy and content. The good life has universal truths, as provided by the Greek philosophers above.
However, people’s definition of the good life may vary and differ in the particulars. In this task, you will reflect
on your perspective on a good life, as well as another’s perspective.

There are two parts to this task:

A. MY GOOD LIFE (15 points)


To demonstrate your perspective on what is meant by a good life, create a photo collage or a short
video (30-60 seconds) featuring the things that would make your life well lived. Include physical
objects, such as food, latest technology, etc., and intangible things, such as friendship, respect, etc.

Criteria: Content (8 points) – Things included in the collage/video are recognizable, appropriate and
adequate.
Design (7 points) – The collage/video is well-designed and well-organized.

B. THEIR GOOD LIFE (15 points)


Pair up with a friend/classmate. For those without a pair, you are encouraged to form a trio with your
classmates. Show each other your work via chat or video call. Each student will list the things that they
included and explain why they believed these things would make their life well lived. REMEMBER TO
TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR MESSAGES OR YOUR ONLINE MEET-UP AS PROOF THAT
YOU DID THIS PART OF THE ACTIVITY.

After sharing your perspectives with each other, answer the following questions in 100-200 words.
 How is your perspective about achieving the good life different from or is similar to your
partner’s perspective?
*Achieving a good life is relative to the level of satisfaction of every person. Sometimes its
based on case to case reality. That if we are not fortunate enough, then our level of having a
good life would be very simple. Contrary to a family with good fortunes that their definition of
having a good life is getting of the luxurious things.
My own having a good life is simply able o be happy at all times in many aspects. You get the
love you wanted, enjoying the material things I can posses and being respected by many people
especially by the people I care.
 In what way can you help your partner achieve a good life?
On the sharing of our way of good life, we are quite so different in level of every aspect. There
are things that makes her happy so much where for me it makes only very little difference. The
best way for me to help my friend to have good life she wished and worked for is to help her
achieved her dreams. Support her in her academic needs (moral support) and be able to
provide her comfort at times she needed most especially at times of problems. Keeping him
encouraged in her every tasks is one of the many things I can do to make happy and enjoy her
life this time and sharing my happy moments to her sometimes makes him happy.
 Do you think one can really achieve a good life in a man’s lifetime? If yes, how?
*Yes, our goals in life are the one that makes us happy. And it is achievable in our lifetime.
Being happy can be adjusted whiles our aspirations of getting things we wanted can make our
life even more exciting. Material things can make us smile. But the real meaning of being happy
is making also other people happy of what we are.
For some people, they can be happy at later age because their satisfaction is achieved on
accomplishments. But many young generations are having a good life now due to the pleasure
that technology is giving them. Also, many people have a good life in basic things. Have good
shelter, able to eat good foods.
In general, yes, it is achievable.

Criteria: Content (10 points) – The student demonstrates deep reflection on what it means to have a
good life.
Collaboration (4 points) – Each pair shared and elaborated their perspectives with each
other.

My gadgets connects me to my friends and love
Gadgets (Phone, Laptop and ipad) ones in any corner of the world and being connected
to them makes me happy.
Bags allow me to carry things that I need whiled in
Bags (Fashion bags, Travel bags) transit. Gadgets and memorabilia’s makes me happy
and its part my my good life.
Basic needs but having a good design that I want
makes me happy. And I love using dress that I

comfortable with and for other people to say that my

I don’t own a car this time. And having it later can

INTANGIBLE THINGS
Love is the most precious things and its free to give
but hard to keep. Knowing that I am loved by many

My friend shared her good life to me and I found her excited sharing her life. Likewise I feel better for her
having a good life. And I shared mine too and I found out thatwe many things in common. Love, respect and
likings to technology make us both happy.
